Bacon burgers are great, bloody marys too. When I sit down and order bacon burgers, if you see my plate empty, keep em coming. I can eat those bacon burgers all day long.

Everytime i go there (cause i like their burgers) all staff are so rude.. They hang up the phone before listening you, they interrupt your sentence while you are trying to say someting, they run after you and catch you in the middle of the street if you do not tip them enough !!! I will never ever go there again and tell everyone . that's it !

I really do not understand what all the fuss is about. We had one chopsteak, which was just an oversize burger served without a bun and with nothing else, on turkey club which was stingy on the meat, one drink, and one coffee. The total bill was $55!! What a rip-off!

My complaint is mainly about the attitude. The burger is good but those who claim it the best don't seem to have eaten anywhere else.

Even though you may have to wait for 20 minutes, this is still the very best place for (killer) burgers at Upper East Side. Been around since 1972 is a mark of quality in the New York restaurant market, which is extremely competitive. JG Melon also have some very nice drinks. Try the house speciality - Bloody Mary, but they also serve perfect (and strong) Cosmopolitans.

Was ignored for about twenty minutes by the waiter who was serving others and chatting to the bartender. When I complained to the manager his reply was "You have not been here for twenty minutes."

When I have to tell three people I'd like a table for two and am directed to some manager (maybe?) who leans against the bar chatting it up with the bartender for 4 minutes before acknowledging I'm there, I'm already in a funk about how this meal is going to go. After being ignored, I'm given a snarky attitude and told that since my husband isn't here yet that I'm "not supposed to be seated, but I guess since it's late, you can have that table". If you're going to give me the table, then why the attitude? If not, state your policy and I'm happy to wait. Just don't ignore me like that. However, if you DO seat me, then the service staff should offer water or a drink instead of ignoring me anyway until my husband arrives. I could have had a beer or two at the bar by now. The server was nice but obviously over this job. I'm a server myself, so I get it, but come on guys. If you all hate your job so badly, move on. It's painfully obvious no one cared I was there...so even tho I live in the neighborhood and work nearby, I'll probably not be back if I can help it. There's way too much competition out there for the customers to be bothered with such complacency. I'm in the industry, so I know. The burger is great, but the service is what I really remember. I guess the one star for service goes to the bartender who looked like he cared when I was being ignored by the manager. Thanks for trying, dude.
