Most uncomfortable
this place was too small and too "trendy" super annoying. sushi was pretty delicious i must say, but not worth sitting in that annoying space and that tiny table.

great sushi
Jewel Bako is still excellent. The sushi is fresh and high quality. The service cant be beat. The anago is perfect. Great place.

unpleasant meal
Jewel Bako USED to be great. Not anymore. The entire meal was bland and the fish wasn't fresh, all for a mere $135. per person. I spoke to the waiter as I was leaving to tell him how disappointed I was and he apologized and told me they would be getting a new chef. Shame on you Jewel Bako for serving us such poor food. I will never return.

Amazing
The best omakase ive ever had. The fish is supremely fresh and the sake was great. Come here. Sit at the bar.

Best Omakase in NYC
This is the fifth time I've esten at Jewel Bako and the service and excellent food are impeccable. Every dish is beautifully presented and the waiters are happy to explain each cut of fish. Dunno what Lobster boy in the previous review is complaining about. He'd rather have the thing boiled alive? Definitely a silly review there. Lobster boy should stick to eating grass, but oh no, isn't the grass sufferring too, being denied water and all? If you want great experience for Japanese cuisine, with excellent fresh sushi, come to Jewel Bako.

Exceptional
Best Omakase I have ever had in the city. Sit at the Sushi Bar, order a bottle of sake and enjoy the never ending parade of top notch fish. Make sure you get the uni sundae.

Truly is a Jewel...A Gem!
OMG!! What a great find! I had dinner here last night and it was absolutely scrumptious! The sushi was one of the best I've had ever. The staff was very attentive. The decor is very warm and cozy, yet creative (the dining room is dome shaped). I loved it and will go back!!
