    Excellent Desserts!!

I haven't tried their entrees yet, but their desserts are amazing! Better than any other restaurant or bakery in the area. Try their strawberry chocolate cake (the one with the chocolate covered strawberry on top). It's not overly sweet and pretty enough to bring to a dinner party. Also fantastic is their sesame red bean ball. I don't do many reviews, but I wanted to get the word out so this place stays in business! Note: they have a few seats, but it's really a take out joint.

    Fast and flavorful

I don't eat inside, as most of my food is to take away. Every order is filled quickly and pleasantly. Great value. I esp. like the curry noodle soup. Some of the other food is a tad generous with the oil but that adds to the yum factor.

    well...

the wonton soup here is ORANGE. it scared me. the congee here is completely tasteless. and the udon noodles are unappetizing. the only things i've had here that are decent are the red bean bun and the milk teas (though the tapioca is extremely subpar.) just stick to dessert-like items.

    Extremely Subpar Service

I have ordered from here a few times with no problem. However, ordering delivery tonight was an absolute disaster. The woman clearly took down the wrong order and when it was delivered I called to complain. She not only argued with me, but she hung up on me. Twice! All I wanted was my correct order and I was even willing to pay the difference but she still would not admit she was wrong. She blamed the entire thing on me. When asked to speak to the manager she replied "I am the manager, next time don't order the wrong thing". After realizing it was not worth my time, I gave up. Her attitude was extremely upsetting and is not the way to run a little chinese restaurant in NYC. Don't order from here, unless you like to be put down, hung up on or be manipulated into thinking you ordered tofu when you are not a vegetarian and don't even like it.

A little chinatown style in gramercy

As someone who knows real authentic Chinese and Malaysian food, I was thrilled when I found a place nearby me. The takeout "Chinese" just doesn't hack it for me, so the food in this place put a smile on my face. I especially love what they do with their duck, it's amongst the tastiest out there... also their Malaysian curry chicken is superb. Good bubble tea drinks as well.

    Wow, What a Find

Where did this place come from? It's simply fantastic! Great food delivered quickly, by a courteous and helpful staff. Incredible value and portions. I ordered the General Tso Chicken and asked if they could make it with white meat. They said, "Yes," and stated that it was and extra $2.00. No problem there. The resulting dish was amazing. Beautifully cooked, with an ambrosia of a sauce. Every order has been perfect from Jess Bakery. Their soups are fantastic, and they don't overload them with salt. In an age where there are less and less quality Chinese delivery places, Jess Bakery stands out. Order to order it's rock solid consistant. Easily the best choice in the Gramery/Kips Bay area,...except for more expensive competiors on Third Avenue.

    Best chinese food

The wonton soup has golden color to it not a clear soup with lousy wontons that has been what passes for soup in Manhattan. The pork lomein is the best and plentiful. You will be full. If you stop there its looks like a little chinese bakery and special tea shop. Well thats how it started they added Chinese food last summer I believe and its out of this world. Not a dine in place for a large party. It has counter space for eating there so get take out its awesome.
