Great value, very fresh food, decent svc

J-II is my favorite lunchtime spot. The choose-your-own salad bar is very fresh, and their sushi is flavorful and not too dry. The pizza is unmatched anywhere. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to get my order, so I dont know why some of the other comments are unfavorable. Maybe its the different culture. Because this place is so popular, the atmosphere may not lend itself to a quiet business meeting, but seating upstairs is generally less crowded. Go there and try it out yourself - its well worth the trip!

    Poor Service

I've had the experience of having to deal with Jerusalem II on a regular basis, ordering pizzas for event. Though the pizza is good, the service is poor. The lady keeps calling me honey, and won't let me place orders before 3 pm because she is on a 'lunch break' at 11 am. Aren't those business hours? Don't other people work there that can take the order?

Good for a late night slice!

I went here a couple times this last week, while on vacation in New York, as I was staying round the corner on West 38th. And this was convenient as it was open later than a lot of places round there. Good pizza slices! I had broccoli, spinach, pepper and onion, all tasted good. As others have mentioned the service can leave a bit to be desired. It seems hit and miss. One time I was there, it was pretty poor - unfriendly staff. But then the 2nd time, the guy who served me was nice 'n friendly. I didn't sit in to eat, so I can't say much for the atmosphere. But the place does seem a bit grotty in appereance it has to be said!

    Good Food Poor Service

The food is good, however the service is poor, the staff and managers are rude, and delivery service will put you out 50-70 minutes, I don't know about you but I like to eat within 20-30 mins of ordering.

    Poor Service

The last 3 times we ordered & had food delivered have been frustrating experiences. Two times the order was Extremely late (40 - 60 minutes) and the last time they gave us the wrong food. (They did try to make good on that by giving us partial credit but that order came late too). When I called to diplimatically let them know that if they don't do something about the service they will lose customers the Mgr acted as if he didn't care. Needless to say, we're looking elsewhere for Kosher food.

    Great food, poor service

Food is great and location rocks. but the service is quite poor and often plain offputting, from managers to the cleaning guys (by the way tables are hardly ever clean). place is a little over priced, but i guess with kosher in the city you expect that. if management is reading this please please work on you customer service.

When are you coming to CA?

We were visiting NYC from CA and chose this place at the spur-of-the-moment. We were amazed at the value... and the food was worth every penny. Best hummous I can remember having! This added to our NY experience and we would gladly return.
