$16 for a kids meal? $19 for a very poor burger with cold fries? $14 for 7 mozzarella sticks? Add to that a $3 per person entertainment charge? a salad for $25? This was as bad a restaurant soaking I've every had. Two adults and two kids had sandwiches, two apeptizers and two glasses of wine, total came to $167. Should be against the law....

We were immediately informed that accepted methods of payment were Amex, cash or traveler's checks. I use credit for everything and do not have Amex. When my two companions and I ordered a pizza we were informed that we should order a side dish so we wouldn't be charged a sharing fee. The pizza tasted like it was made with ketchup. We ordered garlic bread, which tasted little more than a toasted roll. We each ordered a non-alcoholic beverage. Plus we were charged a $2.95 per person entertainment fee. I didn't feel entertained, I felt taken advantage of. I do not recommend eating here. Perhaps they will simply let you look around, but you might get charged just to do that. Who knows?

This place might have been cool 15-20 years ago, but is now an outdated and dirty restaurant with the poorest food I have ever been served at a restaurant. There were 6 of us including my 3-year old and 12-year old daughters. We were charged $18 to just walk in ("$2.95 entertainment fee per person"). When we saw the prices of the food ($15.50 for a kids meal), we decided to order two pizzas just to see what the food was like. We couldn't even eat it. Our 3-year old can and has made better pizza. We ordered 4 non-alcoholic drinks@ $3.50 per drink and were never offered refills ( to be fair, we wanted to get out of there as soon as we could). So $85 for two inedible "individual size pizzas" and four drinks (lemonade, iced tea and club soda). We had just taken a carriage ride around Central Park and were having such a great day in NYC. After this lunch experience, we were all so disappointed (and hungry), we decided to head to the train and home to get an early dinner. SO disappointed given all of the good restaurants we could have chosen. On the bright side, so thankful we didn't order more food then we did. The waiter gave us an attitude when we ordered. Oh and they automatically added gratuity to our check.

I understand that this place is a tourist trap, but even as a New Yorker I have allowed myself to be taken advantage of for the sake of my kids and I normally just suck it up. However, between the high prices, the disappointing food and the rundown appearance of this place I felt compelled to warn others...Save your money and your stomach! I felt myself getting depressed as I sat there thinking about the wonderful lunch that we could have had at just about any other establishment in Manhattan for what they were charging at J&H. I'm sorry...$17.95 for a sandwich plus a $2.95 "entertainment fee" is too much especially when the fries are cold and the entertainment consists of a lot of talking props. Lesson learned...we will definitely not be going back!

I took my 7 yr old nephew here bc he is a huge fan of halloween. He LOVED it! We went on a Friday around 4pm and it was dead (no pun intended). Not a lot of customers, but the service was great. Our waiter was very attentive. I was disappointed however that they only accept cash or Amex. For a place not to accept even a debit card in the year 2011 is a little rediculous but no worries bc there is an ATM there. I had a small problem with the ATM, where it only gave me 20.00 instead of 40.00 but when I explained to the manager that if I went back on it for the extra 20, I would be charged another fee, he took the 3.00 ATM fee off of my bill. This is a great place for anyone who enjoys Halloween, but make sure you have cash or Amex (and if you bring cash bring plenty of it). For 3 people who had an appetizer, 2 sodas, 1 water, 3 entrees and 1 sundae the bill came to 88.00 (w/o tip). But all in all it was fun and the food was actually pretty good (and they give you a lot!). Everyone who was leaving had a doggie bag. I recommend this place!!

Recently, for my birthday, I visited, Jekyll and Hyde club. I swear, it is my new favorite restaurant. It was very fun and everyone was super funny and nice. We were all laughing non-stop, and had the best Waiter in the world. I will always be delighted to go back there, as long as we have the same waiter. The food was decent, not bad, not the best though. And was a little pricey. But it was definitely worth it. The entertainment was amazing, and The statues were hilarious. Along with the moving Mummy, Knight and Werewolf head. I can't wait until my next birthday to go back there!
