    Delicious food, but...

I thought I had to be wrong or sensitive, but the service at JG is definitely not what it used to be. Still like the food, but doubt I will go back.

    disappointing

have been coming here many times for lunch and ndinner. I always found the food outstanding and the service equal to the food. I enthusiastically recommended it to friends. A recent lunch, however, was a real disappointment. Although the food was as good as ever, the service was not. I was with my friend and we had invited a guest who was never there before. The waiter did not explain the menu, they brought us the wrong drinks and the wine I had requested with the second course was brought out to be served while we were still on our drinks and the first course. And all this with attitude and indifference. As much as I like the food at Jean Georges, I will probably not return.

There are too many good restaurants in NYC to slip up...

My review: pretty darn average meal (except for the company at my table of course :) at a restaurant I previously considered to be timeless. They do have one of the better lunch special prix fixe deals in midtown. And I have eaten everywhere. But having lunch to celebrate a family member's birthday and JG not being able to properly cook a burger, twice, is not acceptable. And messing up a dessert is further annoying. At least they comp'd one meal.

Superb food, fantastic service. Heartily recommended!

We went to Jean Georges last night to celebrate a special occasion and had a fabulous experience. The staff were attentive without being too fussy and the food was truly exceptional. As an all round dining experience it is easily one of the best in New York. When you then combine the quality of the food and the level of service with the setting and atmosphere it doesn't take a genius to see why this place gets such rave reviews. Thank you to all for an unforgettable evening.

    Amazing Anniversary Dinner!

My boyfriend chose Jean Georges for our Anniversary and we both were so satisified with it. It certainly lived up to its expectations. Every staff greeted us as we walked to our table. We had the Class Tasting Menu (7-courses) and it was absolutely darling! After the dessert tasting, our waiter surprised us with with candles and extra desserts with a 'Happy Anniversary' sign on the plate. My bf told them it was our anniversary when he made the reservations. He reserved a month in advance. Oh! And we were in the back room and we got the private booths! So we sat side by side to each other. Just amazing... So next time when you have a spent event going on, put your best dress on and choose Jean Georges! =)

    Great Place

I had a wonderful dinner here. It was a bit later as we did not arrive here until about 10pm. So there was no wait for a table which was nice. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and were sat at a great table by a window. I ordered the steak and it was cooked perfectly to my specification. The potatoes that accompanied it were to die for as well. Each item that was on the plate complimented the next thing. It was like an explosion in my mouth every time I took a bite. I was very impressed with this place and I feel that the price was fair for the service and food that I received. I will definitely return.

A true contender for #1 in NYC

JG has been on the "to do" list for a while but we've had so much success with other NYC restauratns that we never found the time to go until we had something to do in the neighborhood. After Friday dinner I'm kicking myself for having waited so long. JG is the total package, atmosphere, service, and food food food. Sublime tastes were the rule and they were executed flawlessly. Portions were exceptional. Dessert makes you wish you could take a breather just so you could try them all. Not inexpensive by any means but incredible value for your money. Only weakness is the restrooms.
