New York's little treasure
I love this place. Just left dinner here this evening and remember how every time I've been I feel as though I'm traveling back in time to when small business were in love with their customers! Atmosphere is beautiful with lovely flattering lighting. The escargot is delicious. I liked the cod fish tonight. Enjoy!

Delightful meal
We called to see if there was a free table at 7:30 and were welcomed. Lovely atmosphere and fairly quiet until the crowds starting filling the place and lining up at the door around 8:30. The escargots and hangar steak were delicious. My husband enjoyed the skate, but I thought it couldn't compare to the best skate I've ever had, which was at Balthazar. And as for the reviewer who didn't like the desserts, he should have tried the tarte Tatin...comme en France. Lovely service, too.

Forget all of those big, mega restaurants!
Come here for date night with your wife. Really good food and atmosphere. The people who work here seem to be all French. Nice little standing room only bar for those who get there a little early. My wife and split an appetizer. We each had a main course and 2 glasses of wine each. The meal was $87 before tip. My wife and I had a wonderful time.

Wow...Hanger Steak
Excellent atmosphere and the hanger steak was unbelievable! I live in the neighborhood and plan to go back often.

What a wonderful place!
Just enjoyed a great meal here last weekend. I had the steak frites, and my husband had the chicken paillard. Really nice service, and we felt it was a good value. Just happened to stumble across this place while shopping in the neighborhood. Felt like we wre back in Paris! My only con would be that the temperature was a bit cool inside, but I was willing to overlook. They also forgot to bring out a glass of wine, but graciously comped us a glass when we pointed out the error.

perfect atmosphere, great wine, ok food
Most perfect little atmosphere, affordable prix fixe. Great red wine (wish I could remember which one). However, in agreement with the previous review, the QUAIL and SKATE in particular were totally smothered in bland sauce. Creme brulee too runny and weak in vanilla. For me, the saving grace was the SQUID SALAD, which was light and had a unforgettable and delicious, delicious sauce. Bottom line, even though the taste was not all that...Would return for a romantically/dimly lit meal of beautifully presented dishes...as long as it was lubricated with a copious amount of wine and conversation.

Downhill
Came a year ago a couple of times and it wasnt bad but our latest visit was really disappointing. Four of us all had different entrees and three of them involved being smothered in a bland sauce to disguise whatever may have been lurking underneath. Not good and certainly not french.
