Almost every Sunday, on our way to church @ (Kingdom Life Ministries) on Park Place, my two kids, 6yrs and 9yrs old want breakfast from this restaurant. Sometimes it's bacon and eggs , sometimes pancakes, other times it's grilled cheese. Everything is great!! And we always wash it down with a half and half (iced tea and lemonade mixed). It's a relaxing saturday morning @ home and I'm ordering a delivery right now.

This Dominican eatery in West Indian Brooklyn is on my short list of interesting places to eat. New York is losing its interesting places and so this is like a stroll back to the 1980's when you would slide up to a bar crowded with a colorful panorama of characters, of whom none care too much about you, but who will be happy to share a casual minute before start their day as police officers, plumbers, daycare moms - this place is a panoply of organized chaos, centered around a grill from which cheap, delicious breakfasts are delivered in rapid succession. The "pollo guisado" (stewed chicken) or "a la parilla" (barbecued) is great for lunch and dinner, and the lunchtime (only on some days?) "sopa de mariscos" (seafood soup, filled to the brim with whole sea-creatures) seems like an unbeatable way to punctuate your mid-day (I'm not a huge fan of mariscos, but my dad loved it when he visited). Let's keep this place between just you and me, or next time I go, I'm not going to be able to get a seat. ;)

Ok food for the price. But really, if you are truly hungry, you might as well wait for dinner as that's about the time your breakfast delivery will arrive.
