This place has found its stride.

I went to the grand opening which was fun, with free drinks. I was not able to make it back until this week. I saw a couple of bad reviews online, but went anyway. To my delight, I found the same friendly staff I had encountered previously, good happy hour drinks from a friendly bartender, and a delicious burger. My guess is the bumps in the road for new restaurants may have caused them some problems but they seemed to have worked out all the kinks. Its a good edition to the neighborhood.

    Great Place

I've been to Jarro a few times and have been completely satisfied each time. The plates are small, but Americans are so used to extra large portions our perception of portion size is distorted. The quality of the food is appropriate for the type of restaurant it is. I enjoyed the pappardelle. The first time it was perfect, the second was a little salty, I'm only hoping that was a freak accident. As for the cost of the food I do feel it was comparable to others in the neighborhood, the drinks on the other hand is a different story. Now don't get me wrong, the bartender made delicious cocktails which made it worth the price. I even asked him to make me something not on the menu and the combination was perfect. But the price of the drinks was a little steep for the location of bar/restaurant. But if that's the only bad thing I have to say about Jarro, that's it. The owner was there and came to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, very nice Italian man. The waitress was equally as nice and attentive. Overall all my times of going were great experiences, I will be back and highly recommend eating or even just drinking if you are in the neighborhood. Oh side note, the decor was simple but who really stares at the walls while eating anyway? I love the eclectic feel in the front window, with the mismatched antique couches and chairs.

Location is cursed. So is the food.

Many restaurants have tried to succeed in what is overall a nice space. The food in this iteration is overpriced, under or poorly seasoned, and at most times just unappetizing. Tried it twice to be fair. Twice too many.

I want my time and my money back

I've never written a review before, but this meal compelled me to come home and do just that. Worst meal I've had in quite some time. Bland, boring and overall just bad. Salmon with asparagus and carrots...with ZERO seasoning?! I actually feel offended. Not to mention that they charged $11 for a glass of wine and then didn't even fill the glass halfway (I pointed that out to the waiter who sheepishly went back and poured a tiny splash more into my glass). I want my time and my money back. :-(
