Unappetizing food, high price
I ordered for delivery and won't make the same mistake again. The chicken was completely unseasoned, watery, and the meager amount of sauce on the side was barely enough to glaze it. The biscuits were hard and cold with dry lumps of baking powder throughout, and the potato pancakes were tiny, greasy and cold. Collard greens were cold but okay. Cost $30. The delivery guy was nice though and came up the stairs.

Go hungry with delivery
This place should be called "Jokes" except that nothing is funny about starving to death while waiting for food. I ordered some BBQ last night at 7:30 and when it hadn't yet arrived by 8:20, I called the restaurant and they told me that it would be here "any minute" since the driver already left. Guess what they told me 20 minutes later when i called back? Same thing! I wasn't buying it and demanded they not charge me full price. They refused but eventually told me to have the delivery man call them when he arrived. He did, at 9 PM, an hour and a half after i put the order in. You want to know what they gave me for that wait? two dollars back on a $30 bill. A nice slap in the face. I felt bad for not tipping the delivery guy since it probably wasn't his fault, but i told him to complain to his boss. The food was decent (isn't anything good when you are starving) but not amazing. There are plenty of other, better, way faster BBQ places around (there's probably a Dallas BBQ in your hood. It is cheaper, better and they will at your door in 30 minutes or less).

Save your money
The food took an hour and a half- two hours, and when it arrived it was clearly something that had been sitting in the walk in for days and then reheated. Inedible. The creamed corn was gray. It cost $70 to boot.

Love Jake's!!
Great take out. So much food! Love the ribs. Delivery can take some time but worth the wait.

you're better off going somewhere else
we had high hopes, but this is pretty bad bbq. bland runny sauce. soggy undercooked fries. tough meat. on the good side, the portions are huge and the cole slaw was good. basically it's exactly like school lunch food- nothing fresh. oh well.

not good
This place is horrible. Chicken was over cooked. The ribs were tough. Their bbq sauce not tasty at all. There are so many other great bbq joints in the city, dont waste your time here.
