    Avoid, avoid, avoid...

$3.00 for a soda, need I say more? This place is considerably overpriced for food that is considerably underwhelming. Service was no good. Venture the few extra blocks to find some place actually worth while.

    Best Burger In Midtown West

I realize that it is surprising to find the best burger in Midtown West at a bar, but Jake's Saloon on 57th Street has just that. I've eaten in just about every good burger place in this neighborhood and Jake's consistently has the best burger hands-down. The prices here are a little steeper than most places in the area, but the drinks are good, the food is great, the burgers are the best around, the service is excellent, and the bar caters to an upscale clientele. Unlike most of the bars in this neighborhood, people come into Jake's to drink and EAT. Jake's has a good after-work crowd and is also frequented by showgoers from Terminal 5.

    Had fun

Had a great time @ Jake's Saloon! Saw an old buddy from college, had a great chix sand and left a little buzzed. Friendly barkeep & cool atmos.

    hilarious menu

I've been coming here for a while (convenient for work lunches) and i have to say, it has gone downhill. They just raised their prices to the point of "seriously?" The food quality varies widely depending on what you order and who's cooking. My standing order is the salmon, which, when not overcooked to death, is pretty good. The last time I ordered their onion rings, they were inedible (and i'm no onion-ring snob). Their mango-chicken rolls are a good appetizer, but considering their new price (i think at least $11) it's hard to feel like you're getting a good value. As for their drinks...I swear the glasses have gotten smaller, and again, the quality of their mixed drinks varies widely depending on who's serving. I've had cosmos come in a vairety of colors and flavors - so not exactly dependable. But the pickings are slim in this area, which is what keeps this place busy.

    Overpirced!

This place charges top dollar and I cant figure out for what! There are a million places like this, these faux cozy irish pub places but Jakes Saloon had the nerve to charge the kind of prices you might see in the meatpacking district. Forget about what a rip off the drinks are but the menu is just ridiculous! A boring crowd to boot. Its a shame cause I live right around the corner and thought i could make a regular of myself. but like i said, there are a ton of places like this and with reasonable prices.

    overpriced

I'd been to Jake's in 2004 as part of a yearlong bar hopping project but tonight I was surprised and disappointed to find it is to be avoided. Cost is the problem because though the bar lacks any ambiance (its a bit like a chain pub without other branches) a beer was $7 plus tax and a small, ice filled well drink $7.50. I've lived in Manhattan for eight years and visited over 500 bars; i know drinks can be pricey. But if i'm at a "saloon" I don't expect Meatpacking prices.

    A true value play

One of the best old style bar restaurants I have ever been in. Quality food reasonably priced. The beer selection was fantastic. The atmosphere was incredible, with plenty of HDTVs. What a find. A blast from the past with great service.
