You can't go wrong with chocolate
We live in the area and always take our out of town visitors here. EVERYTHING is good. I especially like their cookies. They only sell two or three different kinds and they are constantly changing them. But they are great. I recommend getting a cookie and hot chocolate, then when you leave the store, turn right, go to the corner and turn left. You will be under the Manhattan Bridge. Sit on one of the benches and look over the water to Manhattan as you sip your chocolate and eat your cookie. You may see a wedding or photo shoot in the park because the views are spectacular.

Perfect anytime
Sweet, lowkey, pleasant, focused, intense, tasty, fine, orchestrated, congruent, balanced... Just a few words that come to mind when I think of chez Jacques (try the hot chocolate w/ Cayenne along with the leisurely pace to enjoy, nay, appreciate it)

chocolate chip cookie goodness
My husband and I were excited to experience this famous chocolate shop. It was a perfect cool fall day so we ordered a hot chocolate and two chocolate chip cookies. The hot chocolate was fantastic but soooo rich. I don't think I'd get one again as it was sort of like drinking chocolate syrup the perfect mix of bitter and sweet, but still too rich for me. BUT, the chocolate chip cookies were awesome the chocolate in the chips were just what I'd hoped. Highly recommend them. Next time I'll try to truffles which he's famous for.
