    lovely staff, great food

i've been here a few times, the tuna tartar is delicious with a nice little surprising guac addition, the mussels are great, drinks fantastic. the staff is so nice and friendly- fun even. definitely a neighborhood spot and i've been meaning to go back. very accomodating. not necessarily good for large parties since it is kind of small unless there's a back room i dont know of. outdoor seating is cute, doggie friendly! inside is cozy. i'm a fan.

    OK French Food; Terrible Service

This was not the best French resturant experience I've had. You can get French food that is just as good, if not better. My by got the tuna tartar, which was the worst tuna tartar we've ever had. The fish tasted old and the cilantro was over-powering. Our entrees were very good. The service is another story. It forever for the waiter take our order, and we felt rushed doing it. We didn't see him again until the check. In my opinion, there are so many great French restaurants in the city, particularly for the price, I wouldn't waste your time with this one.

    Great Mussels

Great mussels and huge portion. The mushroom vol au vent is out of this wolrd. Wine list needs some work. Good beers too. Definately recommend it.

    The Steak was Like Rubber!

Steak Frites with Sauce Bearnaise - $29.00 The steak frites was not up to snuff! In fact, if it was any tougher then I would have returned it. But, I made the best of an ify situation and ate half of the steak. The bummer is that we ordered 2 steak frites main courses. Neither of the steaks were of average quality. The waiter did bring us a couple complementary desserts after we complained that was nice. If you want steak then go to a steak house.

    Mediocre food, poor service

My husband recently dined here. It's nice inside except when I asked if it were possible to turn down/off the ice cold AC, the waiter said "sure no problem." All was well until 10 minutes later, it was back on again. Maybe someone better won out? But they could have at least moved us to out of the air current. The waiter seemed indifferent and our food took a long time coming, and I generally felt a bit neglected. Too bad. The food was ok. Everything seemed pretty substandard.

    Bar-UN-tender

The bar is always busy, but the bartender is not a bar person. On several occasions I saw the bar patrons try hard to strike a conversation with him, but it was like pulling teeth. Last night a woman opened with "How was your day?" (which should be the bartender's line) just to get a startled look back. Seems like the regulars are left to entertain themselves there. The place would benefit greatly by putting someone with personality behind the bar.

Sub-standard food, slow service, nice decor

We went there on a Saturday evening with a reasonably large group so we were able to sample a reasonably broad sample off the menu. Food was medicore at best, inedible at worst. Our table had to send one dish back -inedible octopus salad. The rest was either barely above that bar or at best "ok, nothing to write home abt". Desserts were edible but certainly not worth the calories -we got the chocolate terrine and the apple pie -the latter was marginally better than the former but both were below "French pastry" standards. Service was mixed -waiter was actually pretty good, no one rushed us for anything, but food delivery took an inordinately long time (this we felt even though we were neither exceptionally hungry nor in a big rush). We went there with 7-11 yr old kids -they took 30 min to bring a basic pasta dish upfront, dessert took another 20+ minutes and came after two reminders. Nice Belgian beer selection. Wine list narrow but acceptable diversity and price range. Nice room and place settings, though we had to either shout or repeat our words during the second half of our dinner -it got that loud. If you are a party of 2 or 3, you might enjoy sidewalk dining though, unfortunately, that wont save you from the unacceptably low quality of the food for a place that passes itself as a French bistro. Wish I cd say I'll visit again but I cant imagine that I'll go there again anytime soon, even though it's only a block and a half from our apartment.
