Tried it a few times, won't go back

I really want to like this place, I've given it a fair shot, but it's just been consistently disappointing. Maybe the sushi is better, but the Chinese side of the menu is bland, greasy, not so fresh, and not very good tasting. Shrimp and broccoli is usually a sure-fire, but the shrimp were overcooked and the garlic sauce was so oily. I didn't feel too hot after that meal.

    Spice-topia

I ordered their chicken with garlic sauce the other day...magnifico! If you like true Szechuan style food, their Hunan Lamb is a must try! I can tell that they use real lamb lag in their dishes, so other places use pork in place of lamb. Their shrimp with garlic sauce also a great delight.

    Excellento!

It was a really good combination of thai curry, Japanese sushi and authentic chinese food. They even serve Korean food. We really enjoyed the foods. Excellento!

Pls. cut down on the red pepper flakes!

This used to be our favorite UWS chinese restaurant. We especially enjoyed their spicy dishes for their interesting and complex flavors. However, since Dec 04 , all of their *spicy* dishes have been drowned in red pepper flakes making them virtually inedible. The items with garlic sauce in particular have very little garlic but LOTS of red pepper. We hoped it was a mistake but we order from them a lot and each time we've gotten something spicy, we've gotten burned--literally. Their non-spicy food is still great. But we miss having garlic in our garlic sauce!

    Bubble tea

Ivy's cafe has the best bubble there is in new york. Not only does she have taro flavor but also other amazing flavors that all should try. Her restaurant also has the best sushi, everyone should try the food at ivy's cafe.
