Amazing again!
This is the third time my husband and I have been here and we can't get enough! The first time, we came alone to celebrate my husband's birthday. Then in June, for our second visit, we brought friends of ours who live up the block, but had never dined there. Now, last night, we took my husband's parents as an anniversary dinner, and they adored it! We seem to always get the same waiter (Kostos), which is great because he is super helpful. Any lamb dish is out of this world, and the moussaka was amazing! We have no complaints and we can't wait to return to bring my parents for their anniversary!

Not worth the money
Me and the wife went here about 5 years ago and enjoyed the food, which was less upscale than it is today, but were annoyed by the slow and surly service. After seeing all the glowing reviews, we decided to give it a second shot. First of all, there are no wines (except retsina) that sell for less than $36 a bottle and the now fancier entrees average about $25. My wife liked her chicken okay, but it was definitely not worth $22. I had lamb stew with a lemon sauce and the vegetables were horribly overcooked and the lamb was tasteless--all for $30. We won't return, even though the service has improved.

Wonderful surprise on the UES
Just ate here last night with a friend after reading the reviews and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy and the staff were extremely attentive from the moment we walked in. We shared 3 appetizers, the feta cheese and sliced tomato, tzatziki, and spanakopita, and an entree, the vegetarian plate, and everything was beyond delicious and served in a timely fashion. The restrooms were also clean and well maintained which seems to be a rarity in Manhattan and attests to the quality of the restaurant. Highly recommended! Will be back soon.

Soooooo yummy!
My husband and I went there last night for dinner. The food was delicious, the waiter was very helpful, and the place itself was adorable. It felt as if we were eating in a restaurant in Greece. My husband had the lamb special, which fell off the bone because it was so tender and I had the soft shell crab. The appetizers were incredible as well as the desserts. We will def go back,

Fabulous Date Spot
I have been to Ithaka on many occasions - dates, family nights, etc. and am always thoroughly impressed. The food is excellent (my fave is the psari plaki (fish of the day with feta, tomato, herbs, onion...sooo good). The atmosphere transports you to Greece and there is often live music. Waiters are extremely friendly and helpful and the Greek wines are inexpensive and perfect to pair with the food. One of my UES faves.

Great Place
The food here is great, the service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. The grilled octopus appetizer was awesome. Notable are their wine prices, which are very reasonable. Try the Grand Reserve. Good atmosphere as well...

Excellent!
Great food and service at a great price! I eat here at least twice per month and always bring out-of-towners for a taste Manhattan's best Greek food!
