I was excited to visit this place due to mostly positive reviews but what a disappointment! The waiter gave us such a hard time ordering 1 piece of plain grilled chicken for our child. He could not understand that is all we want for him and he said they didn't have it. But when we stated that it was on the menu for adults, he said, ok, I will bring it out but it's the same as the adult price. Why hassle us over chicken? Anyway, I ordered the chicken too and it was overcooked and tasteless. We had 3 different spreads to start which were not good at all and the portion was very small. The pita bread though was good and extremely fresh. The zucchini chips to start were not cooked properly and were not good either. My wife had the $35 fresh fish and it did not taste fresh and again.....had no taste. Do we see a theme here?!?!!? PLEASE, save your hard earned money and visit other places in the neighborhood. $150 is a lot of money for bad food and great pita bread.

Over the last eight years we have dined here at least once a month a have always loved the food (esp. the pikilia and the fresh fish), atmosphere, and courteous efficient service.

The place is charming and well designed. The service was without fault. I ordered the melitsanosalata (eggplant spread) and it was so-so, a sort of mush. I've had some you couldn't stop eating. This I had to plow through., Next came the grilled lamb shops. No salt, so they were tasteless, but with salt were better. but they were rather tough and filled with gristle. I've had better, both in Chicago and in Delphi, Greece. The dessert was fine, the free after dinner drink was great, and all of it, with wine, set me back over $100 for one person. Perhaps the moussaka would have been a better choice. I will say the fresh grilled fish looked pretty good. I think that might be thier speciality.

This charming and friendly Greek style taverna has wonderful fresh fish. We had grilled branzino (filleted by the waiter at tableside), grilled shrimp and fried smelt-- all of which were delicious. The tzatziki was fabulous, and their feta cheese on a salad remarkably mellow and sharp at the same time. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly and helpful. We’ve added this place to our list of the terrific NYC restaurants we’ll visit often.

The Taramosalata and Spanakopita were decent and the oregano fries and Revani were not good... but the shrimp cocktail consisting of 3 small jumbo shrimp for $16 was at least twice the going rate and discouraged me from exploring further.

Fresh ingredients and dishes. Grilled fish & octopus were tender and flavorful and not over cooked. I love when they debone the fish right in front of you. Staff are friendly and courteous.
