The meal could not have been better. It probably should have 4 $$$$ instead of 3. It was pricey. My girlfriend and I had 1 martini, 1bottle of wine, Calimari, Salad, 2 main courses, brocili rabe and desert with a generous tip = $205. This is not our every weekend type place, but for a treat. AMAZING! Worth every cent. The calimari was lite and perfectly cooked, the salad dressing was unbelievable. Listen to the specials, I had a veal and artichoke dish that melted in my mouth. My girlfriend, a shrimp plate that almost had me wondering if I wanted 2 main courses -) The Rabe was the biggest disapointment, but ok. The had a flambai, which they cooked at our table, really fun and cool! The server gave us 2 free after diner drinks. I had the Grapa. Clearly the last reviewer did not look at the menu. This place is a can't miss. I will be back.

Upon all of the great reviews, I decided to dine here on a whim...The waiter comes over to show us their house wine for $70 per bottle! First off, they didn't give us a choice of tap water, they asked sparkling or still? Then when we asked for tap, it took about ten minutes to have our glasses filled. Then after ordering our apps (not enough food to split, but they never said anything), the waiter told us he's going to make us a side of broccoli rabe... I thought you should have to ask if people want something at a place? The main dishes were pretty good, but the waitstaff will nickle and dime you! Terrible experience unless you are wealthy and don't care about spending $200 or more for a couple. Def. not recommended!

I live a block away and come here often. I have never been anything less than thrilled with the service, food, and atmosphere. The menu is amazing, as are the specials, which keep me surprised. Great wine list, and the desserts are an amazing end to the meal. Perfect for a quite dinner to celebrate a special occasion, or to cap off a long week. A must-try for UE-Siders and others.

Based upon the reviews on here, I thought I'd give it a shot tonight. I love the atmosphere! "Little Italian Restaurant" is right- the venue is small, which only lends to the romance, in my opinion. Service is excellent: I don't think my water glass was ever half-empty...and prices are very reasonable for the portion size and quality. This isn't extraordinary Italian food, but it's good and flavorful and well worth it. Try their specials: we had some of the homemade pasta and it was excellent! I ended up getting a chicken dish with roasted peppers, olives and mozarella...not amazing, but still good. I liked the sauce they used on the chicken. The mashed potatoes and green beans were kind of bland, however. I tried my companion's garlic spinach and it was quite tasty- their broccoli rabe is very good as well. Definitely worth a shot- try it!

My friend lived down the street from this place when they first opened. Excellent outta da box!! This is THE place to come to on the UES when you are in the mood for great Italian and ready to be pampered! The service is excellent! Try ordering in - same food - same great service (phone-wise) and fast! Got nothing less than good to say about Italianissimo! Long may you cook!!

This is by far, the best Italian restaurant in the Upper East Side. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and the ambiance is perfect. The food is of the highest quality and the prices are very fair for what you get. Even though we dine here very regularly, once in a while we get the urge to try another Italian place in the area and we always regret it afterwards. No place can match the combination of atmosphere, food quality, and service. You should not go anywhere else. Oh, and the desserts are great too, especially the ones they cook in front of you!

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday looking for a nice intimidate restaruant with good food. This place was right on point. With its small setting (around 12 tables) and attentive staff this place was exactly what I was looking for. Anyone looking to take out their significant other or just looking for some really good italian food at a reasonable price this place is it!
