forget the pizza, try the home cooked food!
the pizza is good, but i would say their cooking is better! do not let the atmosphere fool you. the food is good for the price!

Annoying service, and expensive. But the pizza's good
We fell in love with the pizza here when we moved into the area about a year ago. So, we have gone back and ordered multiple times. BUT, the service is suspect. When calling in an order, they are too fast on the call--just want to hang up--and don't want to tell you the price or answer ANY simple questions (how long? how much is a side of sauce?). Speaking of sauce, they charge an arm and a leg for a small extra side of marinara. I ordered about $35 worth of pizza, and then asked for a small side--he stepped right back up to the register to charge me $2 for it! Boo!

BYOB
Not only does this place produce a nice pie, they let us bring our own beer and wine and supplied us with glasses. We took my parents here, and my dad still says that it's the best pizza that he has ever had. I've had some good pizzas, but my parents seemed to really love the place. And you can't beat BYOB - that, in itself, will save you $50 on your bill.

Great tasting and priced pizza, only ok atmosphere
This is a great place to find a large slice of cheese pizza for only $2.50. It's the best value I've found in the area, and has a good sauce/cheese taste. The service is fast but brusque (don't expect a lot of chit chat), and the atmosphere is satisfactory but nothing special.

Phenominal Food (weak pizza)
This is an incredible place to get baked dishes and dinners. Awesome hero's and side dishes. The pizza is very sloppy, way to much sauce, and chewy. If you want pizza, go to Gino's or Delizia. If you want anything else Italian, come to Italian Village.

The Greatest!
I "discovered" this place about 35 years ago when I used to go bowling at the old East End Lanes - don't look for it now - it doesn't exist. Anyway, IV was no more than a tiny pizzeria then - now it has grown into a full-fledged restaurant. However, the pizza there is still the best thing going. All the food is top-notched - & the people are terrific. A must-see in NYC - the best in town!!

Best on the UES
I was born and raised on the UES and have been ordering from Italian Village for almost 30 years. Easily the best pizza, antipasti salad and heroes anywhere in the neighborhood and among the best in the city. The staff, many of whom have been there as long as I've been ordering from there, are great, friendly and it's a rare occasion when my delivery doesn't arrive within 30 minutes. Just simply the best.
