I went in to get a nice steaming bowl of nabeyaki udon on a rainy day and was disappointed. Service was relatively quick and the initial reception was inviting. However, the udon was overcooked- bloated mushy noodles, mushy vegetables- and the broth itself lacking any taste. Perhaps it was b/c i was seated alone, but my waitress never even bothered to check on my table- even though the restaurant was 1/3 empty!

I came back because the 1st time was soo good and to see if maybe the 1st time i went they got lucky. Still awesome! Consistecy is so important especially with raw fish. I met a friend down in the 70's and we were going to go to eat in the area, but i insisted that we come here and i was right. No need to try any other place. I'm nt chancing it when it comes to sushi and isohama is still king!

Isohama may be the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. That's a lot to say especially since i been to many japanese restaurants in my life. The service is superb and the food is nearly perfect. I love they're chilean sea bass and the dragon king roll. I will definitely come back to Isohama i highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great japanese food.

Before today i've only got take out from here, and it was very good. I went there tonight and it was awesome! Everything was so fresh & delicious. This is my new favorite place. Better then Ota ya, Haru & wasabi lobby. Also very reasonably priced. Service was attentive. I will be back!

Excellent sushi at a really great price. The Isohama I and Isohama II are really great. I haven't found sushi rolls quite like these elsewhere. For some reason these items aren't on the menu, but are only listed as "specials" inside the restaurant.

The sushi here is very good for the price. The service is prompt, almost too quick for me. The atmosphere is a bit basic but comfortable. The daily special rolls are great but a tiny bit pricy. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for a relaxed casual meal.

Isohama's one of the best sushi places I've ever been, here or in Tokyo. Their hamachi is terrific, as good as Megu, and about 1/3rd as expensive. It's also one of cleanest restaurants I've seen in New York, and is a great place to go for conversation, thanks to its quiet atmosphere, which is a nice break from the normal Manhattan frenzy. That being said, they once overcharged my credit card by a couple of dollars. This only happened once though, and I've been there ten times, so it may have been an honest mistake. Recommendation-wise, If you like spicy tuna, try the Spicy Dragon roll, but be warned; unlike some "spicy tuna", this actually packs some punch. Also, the Isohama I, II, and II rolls are excellent.
