Usually we love to order from them. But this time they got my order wrong - sent me a sushi deluxe instead of the sushi sashimi combo. We called and they said that they'd replace it, but we waited 45 min for the first order, so we weren't going to wait that long again for them to replace it. Asked that they just send sashimi pieces by themselves as quick as possible. First they said "no" and then, after insisting, they said they would but we had to pay an extra $6 because they charged the correct price for the wrong order. It was audacious that they wanted us to pay for their mistake. We warned them that of they charged us for their screw up, we wouldn't buy from them again (we usually buy $40-$45 worth of food each time, but they wanted their $6). Short sighted. Such failure would never be tolerated in Japan.

I've quite literally ordered from all the UES sushi restuarants from 96th street to 77th street. Isohama consistently stands out from other competitors by their quality food, service, and reasonable delivery time. The only gripe I have is that I wish their lunch specials offered a wider selection of rolls. Aside from that, I will continue to order from Isohama for my bi-weekly sushi fix.

A friend and I had an odd craving for sushi, so we ordered from Isohama for the first time a few nights ago. I called and spoke with a woman with a not-too-thick accent-- when I explained that I wasn't familiar enough with their menu and wasn't confident ordering, she mistook my meaning and kindly put me on the phone with a native English speaker. I placed my order (none too confidently!) and we waited. Delivery was very prompt, the food was fresh and hot when we got it, and it was raining to boot! My sashimi was delicious and very fresh, our salads (mine was even free, with white rice as well, with the teriyaki) were cold and tasty, the teriyaki was tangy and hot... The food was great! I will definitely be ordering from them in the future.

We order from Isohama all the time. The sushi is always great quality and the deliveries are really fast. Its great value too. I have made the mistake twice of forgetting to tell them I don't eat roe, and twice they brought me new rolls with no roe, at no additional charge. Also, the restaurant has a great atmosphere and its nice to eat there also.

Though newly renovated for more than a year now, the modern, clean and welcoming design is still fresh as ever. Service is extremely friendly and attentative from beginning to end. The fish is always fresh, flavorful and just the right texture. The spicy tuna roll and yellow tail cannot be beat! But for the best Isohama experience order from the specials menu or ask what is fresh that day. You will be completey surprised and pleased with the suggestions and what you will soon savor! Traditional Japanese fare from the kitchen is equally satisfying. Full bar menu, nice wines and delicious sake is available as well as specialty drinks. Isohama is a must.

Once you are seated, you feel a sence of calm and tranquility. They have a wonderful enclave of sushi chefs to tantilize the most fussy sushi conneseur. I especially love the hamachi with the sliver of jalapeno on top. They have a yummy saketini with refreshing cucumber undertones. Perfect for these hot summer days. Every sushi plate is a work of art and I appreciate my experience each and everytime. This is the only sushi restaurant I can honestly recommend without reservation.
