    great food and drinks!!!

i dont know what restaurant all these people who gave bad reviews ate at, but i ate here last night and the food was awesome!! the cheese plate is really to die for, the mac n cheese is pretty much the best ive ever had, the empanadas were delish, i could go on and on. Even my drink was awesome and different. I would definately reccomend this place and i will definately be going back!!!

    saturday night jam

I had the most fun a couple of weeks ago. My girls and I went to islero, we heard the most amazing music coming out of the doors and walked in to find this gypsy king band jamming out. we promptly grabbed a spot, a pitcher of sangria, and danced around as our tapas came. the rice dish... omg! yum. we will be back

    cheap trick

Had dinner at Islero last night: my first and my last time there. The thing that startled: the service looked disorganized and amateurish when a whole group of waitresses was trying to concoct drinks. I was unceremoniously pushed aside by a waitress who was rushing down the narrow passage to greet her personal friend. A dish with oyster and shiitake mushrooms (on the menu) arrived instead with the cheapest supermarket button mushrooms (from a can?). The place was packed with the afterwork drinks crowd, and I wonder how many more people got cheap substitutes last night in their dishes and drinks? In a word: unless you do not care and you taste buds are dead, do not go there.

    Not good

I visited the restaurant soon after it opened and the food was phenomenal - I've been twice since and it's been awful. Very mediocre food, horrible service, rude staff and incredibly noisy. Seems it's being run by complete amateurs.

    worst waitress ever!

Never had an urge to write a review until today. I sure hope the owners of Islero read this for their own benefit. My friends and I came here for drinks post dinner. We happened to walk by and liked the ambiance, and anticipated coming back for dinner next time. The hostess in the front area was very friendly, and seated us immediately. Our waitress... a whole other story. Didn't catch her name, I guess we can just call her "rudeness". It would take too long to write out every detail about how rude she was from the start for no particular reason. But the last straw, which was the clear indicator for my friends and I to never go back was when it came time to pay the bill. She stood at our table impatiently waiting for the bill. We had to ask her for a minute to figure it out among our group of 6. Came back immediately before we had a chance to finish, and said "we don't take change, we don't even know what to do with that, we usually just round up". We weren't finished pulling together the total (weren't even planning to leave change). Not sure why we even bother giving her 15% tip, she really didn't deserve anything. All it takes is one rude waitress to ruin the experience of the entire place, and to never want to go back. With service like that, places like this end up with no business in a short time.

    Not so good anymore

Letting go of the chef and her kitchen staff? Not a very good business decision for a place receiving great reviews for food. Oh and don't forget the fact that they brought in the coffee shop chef Hah!
