My friend and I intended to have a nice holiday dinner at Isle of Capri, we had made a reservation so we were able to sit in the outer area. We ordered wine, appetizers and our entree. The restaurant started to fill up, this is understandable since it is the holiday season, HOWEVER the owners were the ones to cause chaos. We were barely finished eating when I heard them say to other people, we will have a table in a moment. Both the husband and wife continued to look around, just waiting for you to leave. I still had wine left when he said he will have the table available soon. I have every intention of returning to this restaurant, but not around the holidays.

Had dinner there last night as was so pleasantly surprised by the authentic and high quality of the food. Meatballs (not on the menu) as an appetizer were so light and tasty, which is hard to find. Sauce was spot-on perfect. Not too sweet or acidic. Egglplant parm was lightly breaded, thin-sliced long (my personal preference) and fork tender. Big portion gave me left-overs for tonights dinner. Waiter brought a cordial of Lemoncello on the house. Love this place - old-world charm and friendly, attentive service.

The food is prepared with love and they will prepare anything you want and it always delicious, tasty and fresh. The owners and staff are friendly, warm and attentive. There is no attitude at the restaurant. I have also made a few parties in the private room downstairs and everybody thought it was fabulous. Enjoy!

This is one of my families favorite restaurant we have been eating at this place for over ten years now and never had a bad meal. The food is excellent everything taste fresh and homemade, the portions are very big. The service also is excellent the staff is very friendly. They give you homemade cheese and olives when you sit to start with delicious hot breads and at the end of the meal offer your dessert drink with delicious Italian cookies. I would recommend the Dover Sole or the Pasta Dishes, they have many different specials every night which are always good. This is just excellent restaurant all around, a must try

I was at the Isle of Capri 8 years ago with my son. We just happened upon it while visiting NY and staying in the neighborhood. We loved it. I made a point of finding it again while on vacation this past June. I took my boyfriend and he still raves about it. The food was fabulous and the wine suggested by the waiter was wonderful.

We lived nearby and frequented the Isle of Capri often. The food was the closest to real Italian cooking I've had in NY. Absolutely the best beef or chicken bracciola and pasta agli olio. Wait staff somewhat spotty at times, but the owner very gracious. Unfortunately, I have to convince my wife to go more frequently than she would like. Good value for your money.

Due to close proximity to Bloomingdale's this is a good spot for lunch or dinner after shopping. Just make sure you try to get a table near a window otherwise if you are in the tiny main dining room it can be chaotic with waiters zipping through, people waiting for a table, people waiting for their coats etc. Make sure if you take a special of the day that you ask what the price of it is. Most things on the menu were reasonably priced so we were a little shocked by a $45.00 price tag for their special - Dover sole. It was good but not worth $45.00. Have been here many times but we find the service inconsistent. I never did get a glass of wine I ordered.
