It was a delicious meal for us with the waitstaff making us comfortable & adding to our frivolity! Loved it! I didn't go for a 5 because our wine would have been rejected by me, BUT the other two drinkers liked it.

Been going here for 30 yrs whenever in town. Excellent menu. Friendly "old shoe" place. Very European in a non-pretensious way. Tourists please stay away!

We stayed in New York for one week, and came across this place by chance. It was so good and friendly that we decided to re-book for our last evening. Again, the service and food was great , and really cheap. They give you bread, olives, bruschetta etc even without ordering any appetisers. The main course portions are really big, and very tasty. The waiters, owners and all staff are really friendly.

You can go forever to this delicious local favorite and never have a bad meal. I love that it is family owned> From the the owners who are there to greet you to the waiters who remember you and how you like to order your meal. Just a great place to eat...Period.

The opposite of "nouvelle" cuisine. The food was well-prepared, richly flavored, and portions were filling. No surprises. I've eaten here three times, and plan to return. One occasion was a date, the other two were family outings. There are some nooks near the windows that are perfect for having a quiet dinner with your significant other. The atmosphere and wait staff are old-world, and traditional, but comfortable.
