    Genuinely Satisfied!

As our first time there, my wife and I were more than satisfied. The suggested wine was better than expected and priced accordingly. The service was sincere and the food was prepared correctly and promptly. I found the atmosphere pleasant and as we completed our dinner, the customers continued to fill the seats. Apparently the place is doing something right. We decided to return! Happily satisfied....Croton on Hudson N Y

    avoid - over rated

There are better restaurants close by. The food is not eclectic, as the owner states above, but traditional and average. Prices are high. But the worst part - and I have been going here intermittnetly for over 7 years as I live in the neighborhood - is the service. The service is consistently poor, under staffed, under trained, and ever changing. You want it to be great, or at least good, because it is an attractive place, but it always disappoints. I was there again tonight because other restaurants in the neighbirhood were full, and many clients were complaining about the food and the service. I doubt it will ever change. It hasn't in 7 years. Advice from a seasoned Carnegie Hill neighbor - use this as your last resort restaurant.

    Say what?

I went here for dinner with my son. One entree came out lightening fast - the other took forever. We skipped dessert and then they rudely asked us to give back the table because it was reserved. I used to suck up the fact that the food was mediocre and over priced because the atmosphere and service was good but no more. We won't be back!

    Great American cuisine!

This is the place to go for classic seafood dishes. It is Upper East Side casual elegance at its best! Love the preppy boating decor.

    Has gone downhill

Used to be a reliable, if overpriced, neighborhood standby, but quality has gone down based on a recent visit. Ambiance is nice, were seated and served quickly, they got a drink order wrong but that happens. I ordered soup, after asking it was meatle was told yes. I was then served the wrong soup -- they brought me the vegetable w/pork soup special. Sent it back, got the bean one that I ordered (took 10-15 min), and that turned out to be the same vegetable soup w/some beans in it. Butter for bread was stale. Not worth the money.

    Forget it!

Atmosphere and service were OK but food is absolutely not fresh! You can't even eat the bread, we left after appetizer and canceled the rest. Maybe it was good before, but not anymore !

    Not so great anymore

Have not been in a while and stopped in for cocktails and appetizers...$8.00 for a tiny dish of marinated olives? Are these people nuts?? Some restaurants put olives on the table simply for sitting down. I found this offensive and will not return...lots of Carnegie Hill overpayers anyway. So many better places close by too
