    Expensive...seriously

love to support this place, but damn...these guys are expensive. no lunchtime prices, same prices all the time, same portion size. my local Jamaican place has been closed so I passed by in the afternoon when I was in the area. $11 for a serving of curry goat? did not even include a side of plantain; i think it was $4 extra for plantain!!!! wow. everything else (normal/common jamaican dishes) on the menu is $10 and up. a lunch menu portion of the same dish at any other Jamaican spot will run you $5/$6 w/plantain and cabbage. full dinner portions at other spots run you $8/$9. food is flavorful, but walked away feeling I ate a $6 meal and got jerked (pun intended). for a casual eatery, it doesn't merit those prices.

    Island Salt... No Spice

I gave half a star because the rice and peas was edible. I order the the oxtail with sweet plantain and it was the worst food I ever had...Ever! The oxtail had not 1 spice in it that I could detect unless salt is now considered a spice. The plantains would have been good if they werent cold n greasy. (They were very ripe and not dry) I was starving and on lunch w/ no time to go else where. I couldnt finish it, I threw it out and went back to work with a stomach ache, a salt headache and an attitued. They serve decent portions for the price, but what good is a lot of nasty food? I'll now just walk the extra blocks to Jam's.

    Dry food

This restaurant had the slowest service, it was really hot in the store. It took forever for me to put in my order and when I did put in my order they made it wrong. In addition to this the food was very dry and bland.

    Very slow

This place is very very slow and they often mess up your order. The curry coat was nothing but bones and the sides are very very small.

Take me back to the islands!

This is what Caribbean food is.. slow cooked, spices blended and fused to seduce the palette. The oxtails are excellent. I need to return to try their breakfast menu.
