    Salad in West Harlem

I just visited the Island Salad on 131st and Lenox. I walked into a very clean, orderly food environment. All of the ingredients seemed fresh and made to order. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Venus De Milo Salad (Greek Salad) and and an Island Salad Burrito. The portion sizes were good value for the money. I loved the fact that the guacamole was put into a take- out container so the burrito wouldn't get soggy. Even though the guacamole and my salad dressing didn't make it into my take-out bag I was still very pleased with my order. I also tried a homemade berry soda with fruit which was delicious and refreshing. I highly recommend this restaurant to any Harlemite looking for a unique, authentic and delicious salad or wrap. I am so happy Island Salad is here!

    Delivery service

I normally go to the restaurant and buy my salads. Today I decided to have my salads delivered. BIG MISTAKE!! waited a long time, and when it did come, salad and dressing was spilled in the bag. The delivery guy knew it was spilled but chose to deliver it anyway, Sorry I couldn't take back my tip. My order was imcomplete as well, for $31.00 plus a $4.00 tip I expected better service than this. I did call and now I am waiting for a delivery of second salad and Juice. Waited approx 45 mins for the first order, how long you think I will wait for this one. God I am HUNGRY!!!!. My recommendation, eat in or take out. but no delivery.

    Great Addition

The customer service leaves customers confused/ feeling unwanted on arrival as my first attempt to try Island Salad resulted in me walking out w/out making a purchase. Young staff should be energetic and welcoming, not acknowledging customers will result in loss of business. I returned several days later & although the service was a bit better it wasn't welcoming. The customers arriving behind me received the same marginal service. The salad selections are great, I was pleased with my selection and will go back again but if the service doesn't improve I have no problem walking out.

    Great touch for Harlem

Nice clean place, most of the staff greeted everyone. This is a plus in a Harlem cafe. I ordered the Jerk Salad, it was amazing. I received a reward card and will go back to use it again. They need to open a store on the west side.

Best personal salad and wrap made in NYC

Loved the burrito, made there. It was so stuffed, couldn't eat it all at once. I love the reward card, I will get my free salad or wrap next visit. Keep up the good work.

    Customer service, please

The food here is not unappetizing, it can actually be quite good. Unfortunately, the customer service is below par and the quality of the food is inconsistent. If you do go stay clear of any wrap that is mostly lettuce. They press all of their wraps, leading some to be soggy when heated. Make sure to watch carefully as the employees make your food- they make mistakes frequently. Bottom line: The employees here need better training and the ingredients in items on the menu should not change person to person or day to day. Plus: The owner is very plesant and remembers his customers faces. Try the natural sodas.
