We've been in Hell's Kitchen for 9 years now, and except for the 4 month Island Burger was closed because of the fire we've had their food for dinner at least once per week, and frequently 2 or 3 times in a week. It's simply unbeatable value - top of the line burgers, with very few exceptions perfectly prepared, and very good prices. Also their chicken salad platters and cob or chef salads are frequently on our dinner table. We've had Kobe beef burgers served with freshly cooked lobster tails at Mandalay Bay's Burger Bar in Las Vegas, and they couldn't hold a candle to Island Burger. If your burger reference is fast food you're probably not going to care much for this place - this is hi qual gourmet cooking, and each burger is a whole meal in itself.

I'm reading reviews saying that place place has the best burgers in the city, or in the country, or in the world. In fact, they are not even the best on the block. That honor belongs to Lucky Burger around the corner on 52nd. I agree that the burgers are a nice size, and perfectly cooked (which is hard to find in this city) and the buns are just the right size and texture and the lettuce and tomato are fresh and tasty and the toppings are interesting and inventive. The meat, however, is a complete bore. I don't think they season the meat at all. And why should they? if you're going to put Gorgonzola, pesto and guacamole on a burger, who needs to flavor the meat? But woe to the customer's taste buds who orders a ordinary cheeseburger, as I did, and you will be bitterly disappointed: A perfectly cooked burger on a fine bun with crispy lettuce and tomato with absolutely no taste whatsoever. Also disappointing is that they don't have fries. They explain why on the menu, and it's perfectly valid reason, but it doesn't make up for the lack of fries. Really too bad. They have a great place there, and they sure know how to cook a burger, but I can't see going back.

the burgers were huge, juicy and delicious..i wanted to have another one right away but couldn't do it...the restaurant was very narrow. a little uncomfortable to sit. went in there over 4 times now, the service sucks when the guys are working ( which is usually a Monday) went in another day and the service of definitely better. the server was gorgeous and attentive. would go back again!! oh but no fries!!

I ordered delivery and it was nice and speedy. The burger tastes great but I wanted Med-well and got a medium-rare. I think it would be a better deal if you received fries or some kind of side item with the burger. I basically spent 11 bucks (with tip) for a burger. However, I would order again. Next time I will ask for a well done burger that way it will at least be med. or medium well. Did I mention that the burger was huge?

First things first. The burgers are outstanding. Worth the trip from anywhere. The prices are more than reasonable. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is so good, you'll probably be able to overlook the narrow space, small tables and uncomfortable chairs. Also, there are no fries, but the menu explains why. But who cares? The burgers are incredible, and there are truly DOZENS of combinations to choose from. And the salads are big enough for a whole family. The place is tiny and easy to miss, but is definitely worth looking for.

The burgers are to die for. Huge with just the right amount of seasonings. They are a little bit on the rare side so be careful. Tons of toppings and styles to choose from. My favorite is the Mona. Shakes are great, the cookies make a great dessert afterwards.
