Poor quality food and & service
We really wanted to like this place after all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Delivery took over an hour, the delivery person did not have change, and the food was poor. The tuna looked like it had been harvested from a nearby beach. The eel was slimy and did not appear fresh. The price was not right for the value. We will never be ordering this restaurant again.

Among the best Japanese restaurants in NYC
This place is excellent in many ways. First, the space is impressively huge, clean and rather tastefully decorated, albeit a bit dated. Their service is quite friendly and efficient--very reminiscent of how resutrants in Japan are. The menu selection is vast (they have a much larger menu than what's listed here), and their chefs, who are undoubtedly Japanese, know what they are doing. The sushi is very good (and great value, too, if you order, say, Sushi-Ten dinner--which is a combination of sushi and tempura w/ a couple of sides and soup--all for under $20!), but their daily small plates are superb. This, incidentally, is the only Japanese-operated Japanese restaurant in the Financial District, and their cleanliness, food, and the service all show that!

My Go-To Sushi Joint
No frills, but amazing food. Everything is fresh no matter what day it is. I recommend this to anyone with a craving for fish. Everyone is very hospitable, even if English is a side note.

Quick Delivery, Subpar Food
Ordered at 8:26 PM on a Tuesday and food was here before 8:50 PM! I was impressed! But unfortunately the food was sub-par. So sub-par I only ate half. I ordered a sushi sashimi combo along with the SeaWeed Salad. I couldn't finish either. Too bad because I am looking for some good sushi downtown. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend at all.

Best sushi downtown
We lived in Japan for a few years and I generally stopped eating much sushi upon returning because I was dissappointed with the quality in the financial district. Ise has saved me. I go there for my weekly sushi fix- the yellowtail is fabulous.

Enjoyable Experience
Good place for lunch but get there early because it gets crowded. After work/dinner is good too. Food is very tasty and service is very good.
