    Roll Heaven

    I frequent the 3rd Ave Iron and it's absolutely wonderful! Its an intimate atmosphere and the service is excellent. The 3rd Avenue Roll is a must try...its my fav! For an app, the fried calamari is simply scrumptious! Lastly, the host, Dennis, is very friendly and loves to sing! :-)

    Decent sushi, poor service

    This place is OK if you need a quick sushi fix. Their location on 78th street on Upper East Side is bigger and nicer. The service was pretty bad. Maybe we were just unlucky with the waiter. He was not very nice and kept disappearing and forgetting what we asked him.

    Won't be back...

    When we walked in the place smelled like fish and not in a good way. Our waiter was in such a rush for us to order despite the fact that there were plenty of open tables and when we received our sushi, all of the food was warm. The flavors weren't terrible but warm sushi leaves plenty to be desired. It is rare I don't finish a plate of food but when we asked for the check I had barely made a dent. I'll be looking for a new sushi joint in the area for sure.

    Great

    I love Iron Sushi. For me, they have always been consistent, fresh and delicious. Some very innovative, tasty sushi rolls...and nice service.

    I agree with the last person...

    I reviewed this place earlier and raved, but I had the exact same experience as the person below me who had the manager ranting and raving. I simply was asking him to see if there was something wrong with my bill since my credit card company said the charge they had put on was over $500! As much as I love the food, I refuse to go back to this location. You shouldn't treat your customers that way.

    Subpar customer service

    Not only did they mess up my order (only ordered 3 items so hard to mess that up), by giving me the wrong salad, but they also added on rolls that I did not order and are conveniently pricey! When I called to ask them to refund me for the additional items that i did not order, the owner was outraged. He would not believe that he took the wrong order and that I was lying. He then yelled at me and told me to never order from there again and hung up! given that the food isnt that good, they (and especially the owner) have some nerve being mean to customers. No one should ever talk to a customer in that manner, especially when the customers are merely just victims of poor order-taking!

    Rush me Sushi

    After looking for a new sushi spot, I stumble upon Iron Sushi in the neighborhood. They said they were until 11:30 what they failed to say is that they will do everything except physically throw you out at 11:30. My girlfriend and I arrived at 10:45 and they were putting the fish away and "I asked are you still open?" The waitress said of course and we sat down and proceeded to order. The sushi I have to say is above average but the attitude and service sucks. At around 11:15 after the last customers left we were the only one at the sushi bar. Now normally 11:30 closing usually has a "grace period" were the staff cleans up, goes over the receipts etc. They were putting the stools/chairs on all the tables while we were still eating. The owner was humming annoyingly in the background as if to basically say in Japanese get the hell out. The blank stairs and rattling of the chairs again basically was their warning sign to the last paying customers to leave now and I did! I told each and every one of them that they were rude and I will never return again. There ya have it! Another rude uninviting sushi experience. I won't give it a second chance!
