Best on the UES!
I've lived on the UES for 6 years in 3 different locations and have tried so many sushi places. Iron Sushi is definitely the best! Always fresh, interesting selection and super yummy tasty. I mostly get delivery at least once a week but have eaten in the restaurant a handful of times. The Oshitashi (cold spinach with rice wine vinegar) is a MUST!

always poor service
I'm not sure if they think it is considerate to keep you waiting forever to place your order or if they believe giving you space is the polite thing to do.. But each time I have gone here hoping for better... I find myself stretching my neck over my shoulder looking for our server! It seems like they are understaffed? The food isn't bad.. Nothing tremendous. I would say fresh and reliable at most. Rolls are sized to expectations; I just wish service would improve. This restaurant seems empty on weekends too.. There must be a reason! I have been to this restaurant maybe 7 or 8 times.. I always give second, third, fourth chances.. Seems service never impropves. Hopefully the staff will read thid because the food isn't bad! Just the service.

Extremely conisistent
My go-to for sushi. Iron sushi is very consistent in quality and freshness at both midtown and uptown locations.

I really love it!
Forget all the "purists" out there. Even my Japanese friends agree that once in a while it's great to get a fun roll with lots of crazy ingredients in it. Iron Sushi is that place! My favorite is the New Orleans Roll with spicy crawfish and crab. The thing is nuts and it's really heavy, but oh, so good! The Rocky II Roll is also great. Go in and give one a try! The rest of the place is standard japanese fare and it's very good. Recommended!

Very satisfied
Iron Sushi isn't the greatest sushi place, but for the price, you really can't expect it to be. I do think that it is really good sushi, and especially for the price. Also, take-out/delivery sushi is often not that great, but Iron Sushi has yet to let me down. I have become a regular and probably ordered from them about 30 times now, and been very satisfied. One time the Yellowtail was a little rank, but that was really my only bad experience. I try not to order the tempura rolls, but sometimes it is hard to resist the banana tempura and spicy tuna roll. So bad for you but so GOOD!

Not very good - Wouldn't go back
The sushi was just okay, not great. It did not taste as fresh or feel as tender as really great sushi can be. Also, the service was very inattentive. They gave me the wrong item but didn't offer to fix it (they gave me a yellowtail jalapeno roll instead of a yellowtail scallion roll -- inedible for me). The server was not rude, but she also didn't seem to care about us either -- just doing the bare minimum. Even if the service was fantastic, I wouldn't go back. The food just wasn't that good. The atmosphere is nice, but nothing special for New York.

it's not good
I'm so dissapointed about the sashimi because it is not fresh at all.
