    Incredible

Ate there Friday night, and wanted those noodles again for breakfast on Saturday. Monday morning and I'm still thinking about them. Enough said.

    Ramen Never Tasted Better

If you crave incredibly delicious and authentic ramen in NYC, Ippudo is the place to be. It take s a while to get in if you come after 6PM, so be prepared to wait and mingle with the ever increasing crowd in the small vestibule area. However, it's usually not more than a 1/2 hour for a party of 2-4 and it's well worth the wait. Don't leave without having Hirata Buns.

    Not worth the wait

The pork buns are to die for and the ramen I had was good, but was it worth waiting nearly two hours for.....no! The staff was wonderful and pleasant, but the same can be said for numerous other restaurants that take reservations and don't make you wait an hour and a half for a table. The atmosphere was nice, but it didn't make us forget that we had to wait two hours for a table. The worst part is we were done eating in half an hour! How are people waiting so long for tables, when turnover between patrons is so quick?! The food is good, but I don't plan on going back anytime soon.....unless they start taking reservations.

Don't see what all the fuss is about

So at long last, I tried Ippudo and honestly, I don't really see what all the fuss is about. The pork buns were, eh, ok. The bun part was tasty and the pork just tasted like barbecue with half of it being pure fat. Perhaps this is why people say that it melts in your mouth. Lard will do that. Everyone in my party had the one-year anniversary special ramen and while the broth was tasty, it was also extremely salty. If you do go, be sure to be seated somewhere in the middle of the restaurant. if you're seated in the back, as we were, you will have the constant rumble of subway trains underneath your seat as an added dining companion.

    everybody loves ramen

the Ramen is excellent, many different kinds to choose from. The pork belly is also excellent. Dont forget to try the tofu dessert. Be prepared to wait a half hour

    Better than Momofuku

So we had a party of four on a Friday night and were told the wait would be 2 hours... turned out to be more like 30 minutes. Had the pork buns, which even though I didn't think you got a lot of food for your money, what you got was out of this world. Seriously. Also had the spicy ramen noodles with the belly pork. Got the soup extra spicy, which to me was just spicy, but was good. The pork belly (all 2 tiny pieces of it) was amazing. The meat was so tender and flavorful and just melted in your mouth. Tried my friends miso soup as well... by far, the most richly flavored miso broth I have ever tried. Service is subpar... they rush your order, and it took us at least 3 tries to get the bill (which might explain why they have 2 hour waits). Overall, this place is a cheap meal ($140 for 4 people, 3 apps, 4 soups, and 4 drinks, with tax and tip), that you will enjoy, and in my opinion, is far superior in price and quality to Momofuku.
