I love Ipanema. As a Brazilian who's been in the USA for about 10 years, I have yet to find a better Brazilian restaurant. The service is always excellent and now I am biased because I know the owner and all the wait staff...but the food has never let me down. It's a great place to host a party with the large table in the back, too.

Spotted the restaurant as we were walking by, saw that it was Portugese/Brazilian, so glad we went in the food was fantastic and the service excellent. Will go back soon. :)

Had a late-ish dinner there on a Saturday night after the theater crowd had left. We enjoyed a few appetizers and authentic Portuguese-style steaks for dinner. All the food was wonderful - the steaks were big, tender and cooked just right. If you like HOT food, try the sausage appetizer - they serve it with a sauce that is pretty darn spicy indeed. They might want to expand the wine options when ordering by the glass. I loved the service. They were charming and attentive without hovering. I will absolutely be back again and hopefully soon.

We've been coming to Ipanema since they opened many years ago. We've never been disappointed at the quality of the food or the service. There garlic steak and garlic shrimp dish is a winner. We come to Ipanema whenever we visit Manhattan from Westchester. We highly recommend this great Brazilian restaurant.

That place was crowded for a good reason. I never had Brazilian food before so I had nothing to compared to. Everything was good nonetheless, the seafood, the steak, the fried plantains, potatoes were all good. The only thing that was off was the crab meat appetizer, it reminded me of tuna melt, so i don't think that's a good thing. I would go back...

Ipanema is a great place to eat. The staff is so friendly and the food is beyond incredible. The service is fast and reliable and I always feel at home when I eat there. Five Stars!
