Wish the food quality/portions matched the great atmosphere

Went with two friends for lunch on the terrace. Beautiful atmosphere, but everything else lacked. Lack-luster food. All left hungry and wallets much lighter. Slow, indifferent service. The only good item we ordered was the pitcher of rum-punch(cant remember exactly what they called it). It was like 45$ though. I would only go back for drinks and the terrace, heard dinner nothing special as well.

    Bad Service

The fact that the bread basket arrived after our appetizers were served was a bad sign -- and that was having to ask twice! After the appetizers were cleared and another 1/2 hour passed, we had to ask the waiter to please check on our food. After all that waiting, the food was only mediocre.

    Best outdoor dining in midtown!

Wonderful meal with greatly improved service! The lamb sandwich is pretty incredible. Nice after-work spot as well....Sangria and a few snacks

    Disappointed

We were really looking forward to this Valentine's Evening. The place is really nice looking and the band was ok for what they did. The food was the problem (and the service). Four small scallops as a main course? A tiny appetizer consisting of a couple of endive leaves and a few pieces of citrus? Another appetizer that was tastely lamb fat? A tastey dessert where the cookie needed a hatchet to break. Come on -this place won't' be here long if you don't change. My suggestions - Don't let the people go away hungry. Also, change up the band each week.

    Bless this restaurant!

There is something so "New York" about friends toasting 'l'chaim' at a bar in a church on Park Ave...and the cuisine is a revelation. Each dish is exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented. One can truly believe that fish were caught fresh the same day, the beef is beautifully marbled and side dishes and vegetables tasty beyond belief. Meticulous attention is paid to the sauces, each ingredient adding it own sublime flavoring without overpowering the dish it is supposed to accent. The desserts, especially the thinly flaked homemade apple strudel, is worth every calorie and then some. And what better place to do penance than St. Bart's? The atmosphere may not be as intimate as some diners might prefer but look at it another way at least you can hear what your tablemates have to say and you don't have to worry about being overheard by strangers. It is also a wonderful option for entertaining a small group. Service? I can think of a number of restaurants that could immediately gain by sending some of their staff to Inside Park at St. Bart's for "attitude training." The service here is personal without being cloying and every effort within reason is made to accomodate diner's tastes and preferences. It all adds up to a wonderful dining experience. Will I go return? You betcha! Often and soon!!

    Great Meal, Good Service

I've been going to this place on and off for the last three years, even before it was called "inside park," and it's always been mediocre at best- a good place to get a few drinks after work and have a snack. We showed up around 9pm and weren't expecting much. We sat inside and ordered food just so we could sit at a table and drink. We ended up ordering a full meal, and were completely blindsided by how good the food was! We asked if it was a new owner or a new chef but were told it's been the same owners for almost two years. Don't know what's changed, but somehow they're serving one of the best pork chops I've ever had when just two weeks ago I was eating stale chips and soggy fries. Stay away from the hoolihan taxis though, basically $7 mozzarella sticks.

    Total Joke

We went here for lunch yesterday and I left hungry and completely disappointed. First of all, yes, the service is slow and the tables are on top of each other. I ordered the salad with farmers cheese. 1 tbsp of farmers cheese is all there was. next the bread I had to ask for was stale, we got no plates and no butter. I asked for some fresh bread and they brought it... finally and this one did me in, my $27 black bass came out and I just laughed. it looked like 3 oz of fish. I said to the waiter, are you kidding. He said no the portion is 4ozs. I guess thats before its cooked and that includes the skin and dark meat. I sent it back and got another salad, which was mediocre at best. skip this place
