The food may have been good, but I barely tasted it after being treated so poorly by the waitstaff: condescending, I-don't-have the-time-for-this attitude was nearly more than I could take. But for my father's insistence that we stay ... I would have been out the door before the appetizers appeared on the table. It's a shame that this restaurant has taken such a turn it used to be a nice place for dinner.

Coming here reminded me of being in Italy. Very authentic. Sorry no spaghetti and lasagne. It feels like a cafe in Rome and not the tourist part! Really fresh and yummy.

I am disappointed I hadn't read reviews of this place before we showed up although the food appears to be decent, you'll have to jump through several hoops to get it, and it certainly is not worth it. Many previous reviewers seem to agree. Worst, most passive aggressive waitstaff ever, and the place was dead empty when we showed up so it wasn't an issue of being a bad time. I go out to eat when I want service, I order in when I just want food. I can't stand restaurants that act like they are doing me a favor when I show up I'll be the judge of that. I can't tell you how the food was, hence the neutral rating for we never even got to that part of the meal. We figured we would give Inoteca a shot for brunch. First off, the menu, as mentioned previously, is difficult. I can handle this if you are willing to walk me through it. Unless you are with someone who speaks Italian, you will have to make rough guesses of what things each item is based on your knowledge of other romantic languages. I believe it is set up this way so you can ask your waiter from Hoboken to grudgingly explain three or four things to you as if he didn't expect this to happen and you are the first group of bumbling idiots not to 'get it'. Don't try to order coffee, or you will be immediately be scolded. Don't ask for egg whites either. The waiter will then explain that the chef refuses to make egg whites, explain to you that he's been yelled at before for asking, proceed to go ask for the egg whites, come back with a rejection, then offer to bring the chef out so he can tell you no personally. I can understand an extra charge for egg whites, but not the refusal to do it altogether and the attitude that accompanied the request. I don't really see removing the yolk during breakfast as ordering off the menu. This is truly the first time I've sat down to eat at a restaurant, and got up to leave due to the attitude. Frankly, I would have not felt comfortable dining there after the way in which we were treated. Mirror the attitude of the waitstaff and don't patronize this restaurant: much like they believe you don't deserve their business, they don't deserve yours.

This is the place for you. The wine selection here is amazing. Lots of variety, knowledgeable staff. The food is great too. Especially the veggie panini and the truffled egg toast.

I had been looking forward to eating here and went on a Wednesday and got a great seat outside right off. Then the menu came: it is entirely in Italian. So to figure out what anything is, you must ask the server to read the ENTIRE menu to you? That doesn't seem like a reasonable request, so I asked about three things and chose the best from those. I will not return. How pretentious to print the menu in another language. I'd like to know what percentage of people who eat there actually speak fluent Italian.

They sat five of us in a table for four! After waiting for an hour! The food is average at best! The service unpleasant! The bill high!

Food and wine selection is perfect!!! All of the dishes we ordered were fabulous from the bacon wrapped shrimp, meat and cheese plate, paninis, the spreads.... I cannot wait to go back!! It's worth going on the early side to avoid waiting.
