Elegant Indian Dining
We were here last night and I was truly surprised by the quality of the food and the elegant atmosphere. This is not your average New York Indian restaurant. Though more expensive than others (still not THAT expensive,) Indus Valley presented rich and textured meals. The tikka masala had flavors I've never tasted before in the same dish. The lamb was simply delicious. Service was attentive, not overbarren and informative. Best Indian I've had in the city and I've been to many of the 6th Street places. I highly recommend Indus Valley.

Great food but bad service
I loved the tandoori dishes and the breads but the wait staff and magement was rude to my friends and I. A little crowded for my taste. I would go back only for the tandoor selections again

The Best Indian Lunch in the city
Lunch here was better than Tamarind's restaurant week lunch.

Food was tasteless
I freequently visited Indus Valley as their food although expensive but was worth every penny. But yesterday the food we ordered was dissapointing. Shrimp curry and lamb was too lousy. The meat was raw and tasteless. It was nothing like before.I guess the chef has changed and so is Indus Valley from my list of restaurants.

Great Indian food on the UWS
Im a student and go here all the time with friends even though I can't really afford to do so. The food is the best Indian I've had on the UWS and ranks among my top 3 in the city. Portions are a bit small, but all dishes I've tried are very flavorful. Try the more adventurous dishes, as the common indian dishes (tika masala, etc) are only slightly above average. Staff is friendly and the place looks great and is very clean. Highly recommend.

A real customer
I have a feeling the great reviews are coming from the owners. I was very excited for a 'staple' item and was sorely disappointed with the chiken tikka masala. I paid 14$ for six tiny cubes of relatively tasty chicken drenched in enough sauce to flavor a pound of rice. I'm a petite female, and still, COME ON! Six little cubes? The sauce was tasty but there it was very soupy and had no depth of flavour. I called to make sure it was policy to serve such small portions. They assured me it was indeed, correct. Never. again. Oh, and the samosas were very greasy!

Best Neighborhood Indian Running Away
Every neighborhood needs one really good Indian place and this is ours. Nothing else to say.
