not as good lately
We are big fans of Indus Valley, but our most recent meal there left much to be desired. The food was blander and not as fresh, the portions even smaller than usual. I asked if they had a new chef and they said yes. Please bring back the old chef pronto!

deeeelish!
Best Indian UWS without a doubt. Super high quality delicious Indian. A little pricey, but worth it.

One of the best Indian Restaurants in the City.
I just found Indus Valley recently and am SO GLAD I did. I happened to be walking up the west side, new to the area and stopped in for a quick bite and was thrilled to find one of the best Indian Restaurants in the city. I love Puri (bread) but have never seen it so HUGE, and I ate every last piece. I went back on Saturday to try the "buffet" and thought that the food was great and for the price "$13.95 for all you can eat was a great NY bargin. I was also so impressed with the wait staff, always filling my water glass before it was empty and extremely helpful in answering questions and making sure I was happy with the food. I didn't get to try the deserts, I ate too much,,,so another reason to go back.

Great Indian
Being from India, we like a nice Indian restaurant that is your typical blend of north Indian cuisine. We tried this place and loved it. They are very kind here and we enjoyed our experience, as well as the food. You have to understand that in India the food is just as diverse as you see it in America, and this place felt like the typical Punjabi Indian restaurant. Good good food and a decent price with great service.

Exccellent Indian food with a great service
I completely disagree with the previous review . I know the owner quite well been going there for 5 years now and never had a problem. I think the gentleman was looking for someting more than just good food and service may be a few free bees lol . The best Indian restaurant in the upper west side. Don't miss the sea bass and lamb chops is also outstanding

Dissapointed
My first and only visit to this resteraunt was a total disapointment. The food was definately not worthy of the three blocks walk it took for me to get there. Bland food. The decorations were okay, though none of it was genuine indian art. The service was okay but nothing to go crazy about. I'd much rather have good food with poor service.

A disappointment
We ordered from here for delivery- we ordered tandoori chicken- when it arrived it was yellow and undercooked. I called the restaurant thinking that they had made a mistake and delivered the wrong order- they told me that their tandoori chicken is yellow, not red. This restaurant is a true disappointment. Try the east side for good Indian food.
