Not understanding why it's so quiet here.
The food was great and the service was okay. The price is not cheap but I am not complaining as there are many other Indian restaurants with high prices. When I went to the restaurant at 8pm on Friday night, I was just totally surprised to see there was only one table eating. The restaurant was very quiet.... Not understanding why. Worth trying from my experience.

Disappointed
I love Indian food. I've never written a review for Menupages, but I'm breaking with my silence to say, "Don't. Don't eat here." Or at the very least don't eat here on a Monday night. I ordered carry-out, and I had high hopes given the ratings. The atmosphere in the restaurant was homey, and it felt like a family establishment. Hence my desire to really like the food, which btw is reasonably priced. The upshot: The samosa was so unappetizing I couldn't eat it. The oil it was fried in left a rancid taste in my mouth. And the chana saag was a similar story (although my partner thought it tasted OK). I couldn't eat any of it. My partner's chicken tikka was so bland that she didn't wind up eating hers either.

1:45 Hrs for Delivery
Took 5 phone calls and 1 hour, 45 minutes after we ordered... they still had the nerve to argue with us about a refund when we told them to finally cancel the order? Have been loyal customers of this place. We will never go back.

Hot Regret
Sold on the $12.95 dinner special, we took advantage of this seemingly amazing appetizer, entree and bread deal. Disappointing is an understatement. The chicken tikka and vegetable samousa were both so dry they were almost completely inedible. The roti and spinach paartha were dry, dense and utterly bland. That was before we even got to the entrees. These were chicken korma and chicken tikka masala, both of which had nothing less than a bottle of tabasco in them, which extinguished all flavour and blew our mouths off. Despite the generous portions, I don't think we can ever order from here again. To end on a positive note though, the rice was fine.

Delicious, welcoming, great value
Indigo is a lovely, neighborhood restaurant serving delicious Indian food; very friendly, personalized service, and warm atmosphere. You can also have a quiet conversation without shouting! A definite A+.

One Of NY's best kept secrets, and it shouldn't be a secret.
Indigo Bistro has been a part of my lifestyle for over ten years. I go there at least once a week. They have a lunch buffet with Chicken Tikka and Naan for under 9 dollars. You would expect take-out quality food at that price, but Indigo rivals any of the more expensive spots on 6th st.

A true homecooked meal served by the family
Went there for dinner with a foreign guest and we loved it. It is a low key place but the food and service were excellent. All of the items we ordered were freshly made and were delicious, especially the naan. They were happy to make variations of items on the menu, and the homegrown family attitude was great. I highly recommend it for a quality, laid back and authentic Indian meal
