Good Indian
Owner is VERY friendly, sometimes to the point of distraction. The last time I was there he called me and my date a blessed couple, and invited us to stay with his daughter if ever we were in India. Very friendly, but at some point he needs to realize I'm at his establishment to talk to the lady sitting across from me, not him. But that is a good problem to have, no? The food is good, not the best, but good. And you can't beat their prix fix menu (appetizer, main dish and naan for cheap).

Just..no
All the dishes were the same bright orange color and tasted the same. Chickpeas and chicken were indistinguishable. Cheap mango chutney and watery raita topped of a very subpar meal.

Best Prix Fixe Deal EVER!!
I often order from here for delivery and let me tell you - no restaurant can beat their prix fixe specials! You get an appetizer, entree PLUS bread! I live in the neighborhood and the restaurant looks very quaint, considering some of the other Indian restaurant reviews, I may have to try this one indoors. Delivery is quick and precise - my only issue is the Naan. I am big judge of naan and it hasn't rocked my world. Then again, perhaps it will change when I do eat there as opposed to indoors. Plus I am usually more of a paratha fan, with it's layered buttery goodness, so we'll see...stay tuned! High marks from me, a big Indian food fan!

A real find
Went for the first time with a friend for an early dinner last night - she was initially a bit suspicious since it was empty at 7 (where she comes from, 8 is considered late for dinner). Sure enough, it had filled up by the time we left, and we could see why. The food was really good, the samosas were fresh and the veggie entrees were imaginative and very tasty. They also asked us how we wanted it spiced (mild, medium or hot) and we both went for mild, thinking it would be spicy anyway. It wasn't; mild really means mild. I'm guessing medium means normal spicy and hot is for those who really like super-hot food. The naan was also fresh and excellent, and service was friendly and attentive. Not sure how this place gets overlooked, except that it's fairly small and the front is modest. There are seats upstairs in a loft, but we didn't go up there. Might be a good choice to stay out of the wind though. The prices were reasonable, not cheap but not ridiculous either, and you get lots of food. Will definitely be coming back.

We eat here at least once a week - local favorite!
Indigo is such a sweet little find. Prices are good (the prix fixe dinner must be one of the best values on the upper west side). We always have specific little requests they are happy to accommodate. Servers are very sweet and attentive. Great spot to sit near the window on a lazy afternoon.

I'm new to the area and missed my old indian restaurants. was really surprised how good the food was, the chicken quality and portions were for $14.95. Delivery was really fast too.

Awesome Take out and Dine in
This is my favorite take out place in the city. When you order from the $14 prefix menu, you get an entree, appetizer, rice and naan for 2 people. The food is to die for!
