I've eaten at Indian Cafe maybe a dozen times, always enjoying a satisfying, inexpensive meal. It's a bit pathetic to see the Ruth Reichl wannabe crowd polishing up their critical chops on a joint that's always consistent, affordable and sunny.

As an Indian I have eaten a lot of this cuisine-at home and around the world. The food here was quite good for restaurant food. The tikka masala was nicely cooked and spiced very generously. We also had the bhel puri which was fairly authentic. The house wine (merlot) was decent too and the pricing for what we had I suppose was ok. Though I found $35 for one entree, 2 starters and drinks still a little on the pricy side. I would definitely go there again though.

I am a little shocked at these reviews, and quite frankly, I would LOVE to know where these people are finding better food at a lower price ... I have been eating at Indian Cafe for over 20 years, and in that time I cannot remember a single disappointing meal. Check out the daily specials, between them and the regular menu, it is more interesting than the usual dishes you find on the menu at every other indian restaurant. As for price, we ordered in yesterday - 2 appetizers, extra rice, 2 entrees, 2 deserts - for $30....honestly, I don't think that's overpriced by any stretch of the imagination. best gulab jamun ever. go, eat, enjoy!

Below average food and on top of that it's no bargain. You order your food and literally within 5-7 minutes your food is on your table. In theory that's great, but in actuality, but it seems like (and tastes like) they just warmed up previously made food.

The service here was fast but annoying. The waiters here constantly look over your shoulder while you're eating so they can get you out the door. The food was overpriced and not filling at all. What I found most unsatisfying was they give you half a bowl of basmati rice on a plate with your small dish. This place is not worth it. You can get cheaper, more plentiful food elsewhere.

They were very fast with the delivery. My girlfriend and I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Vindalu with a side of Nan. The Masala was a bit oily for our taste. I don't like seeing such a pronounced discoloration in the sauce. The lamb was wonderful. My only complaint was the portion size. I would order again, but I won't be running back next week.

This place is truly awsome. Real Indian cuisine and amazing signature specials. I stronly recommend the Bedhami or Reshmi chicken Kabob special. The Lamb Bhuna is exceptional and the sky is the limit if you like it hot. If you like Tikka Masala they cook it more Indian style, so you might prefer the Chicken Makni. The Mushroom soup is particularly good. The house drinks and house wines are very good and the bar crowd is a real hoot.
