20 minutes after appetizers, we asked what happened to our meal. No one checked us in this time. Was told it was coming "momentarily" 10 minutes later, no food. The busboy started cleaning off our table thinking we already ate! Asked again and waiter blamed it on the busboy. We were ready to walk out when our food finally came. A very unpleasant dinner. With so many restaurants in the East Village, this one gets it wrong!

If you like truffles/truffle oil. Please do yourself a favor and order the Porcini Ravioli in a Truffle Cream Sauce. It is do die for. You will not regret it! Oh... the wine list is incredible as well. BRAVO!

My best friend and I love to walk around and try new places for dinner. We have been to the best places in the city, as well as the worst. When we stumbled upon In Vino, we were excited because it truly looks cave-like. There were several couples dining and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The food we ordered was good but then something very strange happened, the manager (this was a year ago, dont know if he's still there) offered my girl friend and me another glass of wine, which we assumed was complimentary because he brought over the bottle and sat with us while we drank with him. The restaurant was closing so it was truly a delight to have some complimentary glasses of wine, until the check came. He had charged us for them. Despite this incident we didn't complain (after all, it was our assumption), and I called back a few weeks later to make another reservation. Someone picked up the phone and I asked to make a reservation for two. Thinking he had put me on hold, the gentleman consulted a female employee regarding availability to which she confirmed, that yes there was. Then they continued to discuss that they shouldn't take the reservation because there might a lot of walk ins that night. After which, he got back to the reciever and apologized- they were "completely booked" for that evening. Now I've worked in a restaurant before- i know tables are reserved for walk-ins, but if a table is calling and guaranteeing a reservation- you take it. especially if there is space. and to blatantly lie? it just made me feel unappreciated, disrespected. People should really be careful how they treat their customers. I wont be returning, sadly.

The place is relaxing and simple. Great atmosphere for a small group to get together. I went with a party of 5 and everyone loved their dishes. The waiter knew exactly what he was talking about and had great recommendations for wines. We all loved the Prosciutto E Mozzarella Di Bufala, Ravioli Porcini, and their Risotto.

This place is legit. the food was great, and came out super quick. Our waiter loved everything on the menu, and so did we!!! I would give the porcini ravioli a try, it was delish. Portions are definately good sizes for the city. As for the atmosphere, its very relaxed but not too much space. I would say its perfect for a date or if your going with 2 or 3 friends. All in all, good stuff.

The ambience is this restaurant's saving grace-- certainly not the service. Though the staff means well-- they don't know the bare minimum of etiquette-- It took nearly 1/2 hour before the waiter took our order. The food was bland. The busboy removed my plate before my friend was finished. Overall, I would venture to the one of the 1000 other italian restaurants in the neighborhood.

went with party of five and had an excellent meal.All five of us enjoyed the food.The atmosphere was relaxing.the service was friendly and attentive.The wine list was expansive and the waitress helped us pick a reasonable bottle to go with the meal
