Have been eating here for years. Prices up, portion size down. Pasta was good, but there were maybe a dozen strands of pasta. Not worth the money. $19. for bolognese sauce. Ridiculous!

I was there last night(1-16-10). The service was okay. The soup(past fagioli) was a little thin and did not have much flavor. The pasta dishes were good, but not enough food for the price.

Been to this restaurant before and it seemed Ok. Portions were good, food was ok, and the atmosphere was alright. Went there again 2 night back and it seems there is a new management as there was a whole new menu. Food was tasteful, but the portions...i mean i had to run down 2 blocks to get 2 slices of pizza! The money spent did not justify the portions....and if im right...its italian...not french. Did they think people would order twice to simply fill their stomachs. There are better italian restaurants in the neighbourhood. I donot recommend this restaurant and wont be going there again! Dont go, pay and starve.

I was in NY for 2 days, walked up and down the street and saw Il Violino. Went in for a late lunch. Had the Prix Fix meal. The value was excellent, the meal was prepared just right and the portions were enormous. I was very satisfied, and I am very picky about my food. The service was prompt and the price just right, $20.00, which included a glass of wine, appetizer, salad and entree. Bon Appetitto!!

I've walked by this place dozens of times in the last year, and my curiosity finally got the best of me last weekend. What a mistake. The food was overpriced and barely edible. The staff was either MIA or hovering throughout the meal.

They're on the Friend of Philharmonic discount card. Pass them by. Terrible food and indifferent management. We complained about the rock-hard chicken in the chicken parm and didn't even get a sorry. This restaurant is a sorry mess.

Looked quaint from the outside, but food was not good (I have never had to throw-out chicken parm before!) and terribly overpriced. Get this: when I asked the waiter if they had a children's menu or could do something for my daughter, he leaned over close to me, and said "yes, but don't tell them", meaning the family of 7 who had just sat down behind us. We should have left right then.
