Dominican style Italian food
Since il sole opened the food has been amazing. Everything on it's menu has a unique taste, which is hard to do in any italian restaurant. The service varies from great to just okay depending on the waiter/waitress. Also, the crowd depends on what time of the day. The area drive me nuts the best of times but the food is well worth it. Catch a meal mid afternoon weekday or weekend and you won't have to deal with much of the noisy crowd.

The best of inwoood:)
Since the resturant has opened it has been improving everytime we go. The manager Jose Luis is very attentive. The location is always neat and clean. The food is fabulous. It has a great enviroment.

Is this place supposed to be Italian?
Well, whether it's Italian or not, the food is mediocre. I can make whatever is on the menu better at home (have been there enough times to have tried everything once). The service is typical to this neighborhood, excruciatingly slow. But, their calamari is tasty.

WOW
Just had dinner last night at Il Sole what a great experience. The food was amazing and the service was great. I felt like i was with a bunch of friends. I was a little hesitate because of the reviews but thank God I didn't listen. Il sole is great. They will be seeing me on a regular bases.

First Timer - Loved It!
I went last nite for the first time. I had never heard of the place and just walked in with a friend. I ordered their mussels in marinara and crab cakes - both on the appetizer menu. I havent had GREAT mussels since the 1990s and was a little scared to shell out the $14. But boy was I impressed! Tasty and beautifully cooked! Same for the crab cakes - the best I have ever had I think. The atmosphere is okay; we sat inside because outdoors was unavailable (there was a wait)..but it was nice. Service was pretty good too.

Washington Height's GEM!
I was very disappointed in the reviews. By far one of the best places I have had the pleasure to dine especially In the heights. A bottle of wine and two entrees for under $60 bucks.

A confusing place
This restaurant doesn't seem to have a strategy or theme for its cuisine, and simply doesn't work. There's no fusion of Hispanic and Italian, just a hodgepodge. The menu doesn't look interesting, or taste good. It scores points for sidewalk seating but is simply no comparison to the other competent restaurants right down the street. It's too bad because they have a really good location, just lacking a concept.
