my husband & I went there last night. we made reservations. they had us wait about 5 minutes for a table, which is fine & understandable. when we sat down, it took awhile for the waiter to come by, again, ok, because the place was crowded & he seemed to be taking care of a few parties, some much bigger than us. when he came around to us finally, he asked for our drink order, we just said water. and i was about to order an appetizer & he ran off. ok, so we waiting a bit. he came back & read to us the specials. after he read them to us, again, i was about to order the appetizer, & off he ran. i had my mouth open & said we ... and he just darted off. fine... so when he finally came around to take our order, we ordered the appetizer & our meals. i ordered a pasta dish & i wanted to add chicken to it. my husband went with a basic ravioli. when our food arrived, guess what? no chicken! he realized it as he was putting the plates down, so he took mine away. so my husband ate his ravioli (i didn't want it to get cold), and i watched, for about 8 minutes. finally it came out. it was good, i enjoyed it, but just the experience itself, was not good. and he didn't do anything to make up for it, like say, dessert is on him or i am going to comp your meal since i messed up. i could have said something to him, but i feel it was up to him to make right. my husband & i left not pleased. would not go back there due to the service. shame because it is 5 minutes from my house & i have been wanting to try it for a long time.

Have you ever traveled to Italy? The cuisine is beyond belief. It cannot be found in America. Every region has its own specialities. Il Posto is a reflection of Italian cuisine. The food is fresh and uniquely Italian. The chef creates his dishes with verve and delicacy. The customer can ask for something different and the request is granted. The service favors the customer. There are no waiters loitering and conversing in the corner. They are running about serving the people. The prices are comparable to a Manhattan restaurant. Visit and make your own decision.

I read the reviews and didn’t expect much.....I was wrong everything was great. Went for Easter and it was packed but the service was surprisingly great. I did not care for the main course but it was I, not the dish everyone else that ordered it seemed to enjoy it. EVERYTHING else was excellent. I will be back! Also the price fixed holiday menu was a bargain, I also looked at the regular menu and did not think the prices were outrageous.

I was happy with this restaurant in the past - visited a couple of times. During my latest visit, no one in my party particularly enjoyed the meal. In addition, the prices for Brooklyn are ridiculously high, and the barely smiling waiter didn't even stop by the table to ask if the meal was satisfactory.

My favorite restaurent in Brooklyn. The food is consistently good, the entire staff is wonderful and the bartender makes terrific drinks.

One of my favorite restaurants was Ninos on Coney Island Avenue. After it closed, My husband and I could never find anything even close to what we used to get at Ninos. My friend, years later, told me that the chef from Nino's was at Il Posto. I finally got there to try the food, and yes, it was more expensive than most restaurants in the neighborhood, it was well worth it. I now found my favorite italian restaurant and have been telling all my family and friends about it. I will definately go back there. ciao!

There are very few great Italain restaurants in this part of Brooklyn. Il Posto is one of them. The food is excellent as well as the very polite and nice service staff. This is the place to go. Don't miss out on this all around wonderful experience.
