    Prices are insane!

This place is way overpriced. We've dined there before and thought it was very expensive. However, we thought it was worth it for special occasions. We went on NYE this year and the prices blew our mind. Appetizers were $20+, pasta dishes for $45-$55, meat/fish entrees $55-75+, etc. We actually laughed. These were the most expensive regular entrees I've seen in NYC. The food was good but my piece of fish wasn't worth $65! They price this place as if it was the best Italian restaurant in the city. It's not. Plenty of good Italian places even in the same neighborhood for less money and just as good quality. We won't be going back.

    Not worth the price

All of the dishes had way to much salt. I could not even finish my Veal. Price was much to high for the quality of the food. Every item I had was overly spiced. My pasta was too salty, My veal was extreamly salty. and My appitiser had much too much vinger. It was a shame if the food was not overly spiced it would have been excelent. Everything was just too strong.

    Very Nice Experience!

The food is excellent! We have eaten at so many of the new "in" restaurants and left saying what was that all about. Not worth it!!! Every time we eat here it is consistently "GREAT" yes expensive but it is worth it. Anyone that focuses on price should not dine in the city.

    wine list overpriced

we requested the waiter suggest a wine. 'stupid us ' didn't discuss the price in detail ($500/bottle for 1500 cc) - I checked the retail price = $140 ). Also water at $10.50 per bottle (they poured 12 bottles - so they say) Our party of 14 included 2 children and one adult who did not drink alcoholic beverages. Wine and water bill - over $1600. add to that tax and tip and you end up with a hefty drink bill. These are people who truly take advantage. The food was good, but they have obviously lost a good customer.

    Not deserving

I was in the meat and poultry business for over30 years, and during that time I had eaten in literally hundreds of Italian resturants in every borough and in many other states. The only item worthy of mention in this establishment was the pasta. Anyone can serve you cold lobster salad. Clearly, the roast loin of veal entree was subpar. Moreover, the best was saved for last, and that, of course, was the bill. Extremely overpriced for what was served.

Good food, but really, really overpriced

The food was good, the service was excellent, but it was shockingly expensive. There's no menu, they just read it to you, so you have no idea about the price until you get the bill which was over $200 per withuot any wine or alcohol. Also, the desserts were horrible, which - combined with the bill - had us leaving on a bad note.

    Small portions, big attitude

I've been going to this place for over 10 years now, but not anymore. This past visit was my last. The food has always been overpriced, but I was willing to spend the money for great food. Now, that is not the case. The portions were so small and the waiters were even more rude than normal. If you don't order drinks or if they don't recognize you as a regular, they completely ignore you until you beg for the check. The man who reads the specials was completely trying to rush and take our order, even though we were the only ones in the place. I asked him for a different vegetable besides the one offered with my dinner and he said, "no problem". Of course when the bill came they added $12.50 for my small amount of spinach that was supposed to be a substitute for the other veggie offered. Basically, the food was decent, but for $30 for chicken and $50 for the fish special, the food should be amazing. It's no wonder why we never have a problem getting a reservation here. I should have known better. Anyway, we spent over $150 WITHOUT drinks and left hungry and annoyed.
