I think il passitore may be the best bang for your buck in town. The food is always fresh and delicious, the prices are affordable, and the staff is really polite. This is my go to restaurant for birthday dinners and other special occasions. Every time I eat anywhere else, I think I wish I had gone to il passitore instead!

For the money, it's a nice place with a warm atmosphere. I found the gnocchi delicious, the lasagna was just ok, but the salads are very good, as well as the ravioli. I go back on a fairly consistent basis and recently had a lentil soup with pieces of cheese in it - it was remarkable.

...I couldn't stop eating the food. My girlfriend and I have just returned from this unsuspecting little restaurant. First off, the place was buzzing which I always take as a positive sign. And for good reason. We ordered the shrimp and calamari appetizer. It was grilled and seasoned perfectly and tasted fresher than most any other places in NYC. Our next dish was the spinach & ricotta gnocchi in butter and sage sauce. Rich flavor, not too heavy and highly recommended. For our entrees we both ordered the special crab linguine pasta. Possibly one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The crab meat was so fresh and and lots of it. The linguine was perfectly cooked and the overall seasoning was spot on. As other reviewers have recently noted, it's extremely affordable and the portions are generous. Overall, this was an outstanding dining experience. They've struck the uncommon balance of great service and fresh, flavorful food at a very affordable price. I would return to this place anytime and I expect to in the very near future.

This place is a hidden gem! Having lived in this neighborhood for 15 years we have longed for a place like this and it has finally arrived. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. My only possible complaint is that the courses come out too fast. If they lingered a little longer between courses I would have felt like I was in a restaurant in Italy. The pasta was tender and the sauces were sublime. The seafood was cooked to perfection. We did not have any of the meat courses but they looked and smelled delicious and we are planning on trying them when we go back. This place is the real deal.

We dined at this restaurant and we liked the food and atmosphere. We decided to order delivery and we were told that we were out of delivery range, eventhough it clearly shows in the menus otherwise. 5 minutes later someone called us back and apologize and took our order. All good right? Not really, weeks later we called again to order and we received the same answer, that we were out of range. I guess they change their delivery range all the time depending how busy they are. Those are the inconsistencies that become bad service!

This place wasn't horrible, but I strongly disagree with all the recent 4+ star reviews for Il Passatore. My partner had the pappardelle with ox tail, which was doused with a sauce we thought was a bit too watery. I had a lamb shank that was too salty. I've definitely been to much better Italian restaurants in Brooklyn. And being that this place is cash only, I was expecting much better value. The atmosphere was good though and the service was courteous and attentive. But one thing I hate the most about so-called "Italian" restaurants is the fake Italian accents the wait staff is forced to put on. I suppose this is a rather common marketing device but I just seemed a little too obvious here.

Just tried this place for the first time. Service was great, the entire staff very warm and attentive. The food was great especially the pasta. I went with 6 people, ordered nine (9 ) entrees, 5 apps and 3 bottles of wine. I couldn't believe the price of 360 with tax and tip. Food + service + price = a great night.
