I've eaten at many of the restaurants in Little Italy and by far Il Cortile is the best. I have probably eaten there three dozen times and it has been exceptional. Counting London and Rome, easy local alternative. Treat them well they'll treat you better. Grande, Bravo!! Ciao.

First trip to NYC & had a great experience here, great service, beautiful atmosphere & a great meal for not a bad price....would definitely visit again...

One of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Dinner took FOREVER to arrive, with no apologies from the waiter who never checked with us to see if we needed anything. He never brought the second glasses of wine we ordered. Fellow diners at nearby tables were still waiting for food when we left ... many rolling their eyes at the horrible experience we had just shared.

Shame on this place; ordered clams on the half shell and they actually came out GREEN? I have never seen that. The hot antipasto tasted like the refrigerator - it must have been prepared a week prior. The food was too salty. The only good dish we had was a salad. The decor is tired. My chicken dish was drunk from all the wine in it. the only redeeming part of the night was the pleasant waiter. The cook should wake up.

we go for lunch after reading on menu pages what the lunch menu is to find that the only menu they give us was for dishes double the price on your menu listing- we then ask "do you have a lunch menu?" they say "oh you want the lunch menu and go to the back and get menus with the same dishes, but with lunchtime prices that are half of the prices on the menus they originally gave us. The food was ordinary; and when someone asked for a side salad they charged double the price on the lunch menu. mediocre food,poor service and maybe some people like the atmosphere of eating in Little Italy; and compared to their hometowm poor Italian food find this OK- but it there are so many great Italian restauants in nyc people don't have to be ripped off by this place.

I will never eat in this place again. Being toursits in the City for the first time (and planning to return) had planned to eat somewhere in Little Italy. This looked like a very nice place. We were seated near the bar area where there were very few other patrons. We ordered iced tea and very simple pasta & chicken. The service was ridiculously slow, even though our waiter seemed to be very rushed, almost in a run. We were never asked if we wanted refills, the food was not spectacular, and way, way over priced for what we got. We waited a long time after finishing our meal to get the check and then had to ask for it. I left too much tip because the waiter was working very hard, but that is the only reason. We felt uncomfortable there almost like it was a bother for them to serve us. Next time, we will eat at a chain restaurant where the pasta is just as good (or better) as what was served to us at Il Cortile NYC.

Absolutely the best dining experience we have had in a while! The food was incredible, the wait staff was on their toes, our every need was met, but we were not aggravated. We never had to ask for a refill of anything. I have no idea what the other reviews are about. And the bill was what I expected cause you get what you pay for, and the menu prices are displayed out on the sidewalk. We definitely look forward to coming back...it was the best Italian food I have ever had. They even had there private driver take us back to our hotel instead of using a cab. We love you guys!
