Best authentic Italian cuisine
I have been there for dinner in August. The quality of food is 'truly remarkable and the kitchen is authentic Italian. The dishes are refined, abundant and delicious. The owner and staff are very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere relaxed.

Awesome
Agree completely with the review by psm. The tagliolini funghi e speck is a gem. Linguini-like pasta in a porcini mushroom cream sauce, with speck (like prosciutto) draped over it. I can never get enough. They have a special sometimes that is a penne with wild boar ragout that is excellent as well.

Run Don't Walk
This is a restaurant that has truly blossomed since moving across the street to larger digs. Beats any other Italian hands down - this is authentic. A friendly greeting as soon as you enter, then they proceed to spoil you with their service and great food. It's clearly a winner. I'm thrilled it's in my neighborhood.

tasty food and great friendly warm place
i go there all the time with many different people. I don't think i have ever not eaten the tastiest, most authentic italian food there.....this is not italian/american. This is theclosest thing to eating in southern italy, if not better.the staff is also very pleasant. everyone working there is from italy including the owners, who i had the pleasure to meet. beside the fact that i have a very experienced palette i have never had anything in this restaurant which was not very tasty. very satisfying. It is unbelievably clean.........which is very important to me. Ah, and the crowd.........very good looking people..and yu never know who yu may meet there.....i will definitely keep eating there at least 3 times a week. , especially now that they moved to a larger space.....it is just one of the best..along with la vineria..........

Very good!
A small place, easily confused with La Vineria next door. The food was very good. I had the Carpaccio di Tonno for a starter, and it might have been the best thing I have eaten in NYC this week. For the main course, I had John Dorry with a tomato, caper, and olive sauce. It was good, but not as spectacular as the thin-sliced tuna. Dessert was a Nutella Tart with gelato, and it was good too. The service was attentive, but not overwhelming. I thought it was a good sign that about half of the people who came into the restaurant talked to the staff in Italian. (Or perhaps they were all relatives.) I would go back.
