    Best deal in SoHo!

I have been a loyal customer since they opened. The hostess everyone complains about is actually the owner. Yes! She wont' seat you until your party is all there so deal with it. It's not that big of a deal for great fresh pasta at gentle prices. SoHo is over hyped & priced as it is so enjoy the food and reasonable wine list. In uncertain financial times this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a comforting meal. The Tiramisu is exceptionl. For all the haters this place is still in buisness while thousands have since folded. So guess what? They have a simple but successful formula. You don't like it pay triple the $$$ elsewhere.....more room for me and those that appreciate a good basic trattoria!

Wise up people, they are a front.

I called to confirm they do not serve 2 glasses of wine. I could not believe it. Wise up people, they are a front. They really don't want you there.

    awesome italian food

as a college student aka poor, i think this place is great! the food is cooked well and the prices are cheap. sure, you have to ask for the bread and oil but they stick a pitcher of ice water on the table and serve you your food and for the most part leave you alone. people who say they have bad service need to relax. italian places just leave you be and thats exactly what happens. also, the waiters dont mind if you flag them down and maybe not full of smiles but they do what is asked. food is always hot and fresh and you dont have to tip much because they do not hover over you.

    Actually, a REALISTIC Review

For the "realistic" reviewer, let me actually provide a non-biased review for those thinking of eating here. I work around the corner and my co-workers and I have frequented the place and more often than not during lunch hours you can hear pins drop and they still won't allow you to sit unless your whole party is there. Please do not use the excuse of high turn over, be realistic. Also, unless you order a bottle of wine they will not "allow" grown adults to consume a second glass of wine. The owners need to get with the times, they claim they have provided this service successfully for over 15 years but in this day & age it is grossly unacceptbale and has cost them many patrons who used to frequent it. Get over yourselevs, the food is decent take-out at best so get off the high horse.

    A realistic reviewer

Look, this is a small resturant that needs to have a high table turnover in order to keep their prices low. So if you love great pasta for an very low price for this neighboorhood then this is the place for you. If you are upset that the hostess wont seat you because you are missing someone or that you can't order a second glass of wine with dinner, then take your money elsewhere and spend twice as much money on the same meal down the block. I don't understand how so many people are upset that they were showed the door when they wanted to linger.

The most unheard of service ever.

Their policy is that you cannot be seated until everyone from your party is present. We had six people in our party but was waiting for one more person to arrive. The hostess sat us because she thought we had said five (when we explicitly said six). When she found out that we were still waiting for one more person, she rudely grabbed our menus and proceeded to force us out of our seats. I have never been so rudely treated at a restaurant, and SHE was the one that had mistaken and seated us. There are plenty of other restaurants with similar food and better service, so I would not recommend this one to anyone. This is not a customer friendly place.

    Ridiculous

As I entered this place I told the person in charge that I was waiting for someone, she did not seat me she told me to wait outside. So I waited outside. Then we got seated, once seated the atmosphere was pretty pleasant. We ordered a salad to share and two pasta dishes that were delicious. But here comes the good part as we were finishing our two glasses of wine we ordered two more and were told because we were almost finished that they could not serve us two more glasses of wine. Who heard of such a thing. It was ridiculous and believe me I tried my best to get my wine and one for my guest and could not. I tried about 5 times to no avail. Then they had the audacity to tell us wthat with desert they would only give us coffee. In other words they were telling us what to order with our desert. I figured they wanted to get us out but there were plenty of empty tables. The host was rude and acted like the place was so high class. With all the restaurants in the area I would watch out. Customers will go once but will not go again. Totally ridiculous, rude an inappropriate. Would definitely not go again after being treated this way. They don't need my money.
