Put off before we even sat down
Tried to go here on Saturday night but the hostess was sooo rude I was completely put off, no matter how many good things we'd heard. She wouldn't seat us until everyone had arrived and wanted to stand in the 'porch' in the freezing cold to wait even though there was plenty of space inside. When I tried to ask a couple of questions the hostess just cut me off mid-sentence more than once. She clearly did not care about serving us or whether we enjoyed a meal there or not. I will now never eat here and neither will any of my friends as she put us off so much. I have not been spoken to this condescendingly since I was in school. Go if you like service with a scowl

Perenially excellent
I wandered into this restaurant one cold winter night after a marathon shopping session! I do not recall getting the bad service people complain about here, perhaps the grumpy waitress years ago, more dour than incompetent, however. Excellent fresh pasta in a seemingly infinite number of combinations, something for everyone, unless you are my cousin Daniel! Great soup of the day for the winter chill. Try the whole wheat pasta special, highly recommended. Finish the meal with a double espresso (the real thing) and the tiramisu for two, or to ease the summer heat, the excellent tartufo.

Rush rush
Their policy directed at a high table turnover has ruined the otherwise casually pleasent atmosphere and simple good Italian food. You cannot wait for anyone at a table, and they bring the check too fast.

Fine food, disappointing dining experience
found this page after going for dinner with two friends, which ended up as really disappointing dining experience and was happily surprised that they were actually notorious for their service. We had a good time until we asked for water after dinner with the check, and the only thing they did give us was the check. We asked twice three times and the waiter told us they can't bring us the glass of water because they needed us to leave asap. My friend got mad and asked for the manager to come to talk to him, they said no she won't come you, you go and talk. So he did. And then she came back with him with the glass of water and she stood there and waited for him to finish the water so she can escort us out. That pretty much ruined the whole evening for us. It's such a shame because the food was pretty good, though I didn't think it was particularly cheap.

You have to go here
I can understand what people say about service, but I've been going here for lunch for 2 years now and the gents here are great. If I can't think of what I want I always find myself here. Great deal for lunch, with a soup that always tastes good and everything on the menu is big and tasty. I think you're foolish if you read the reviews of this place more than a few years ago cause in my opinion, I think it's filling, tasty and cheap. A great place for even greater Italian.

Great Italian Great Price
Loved the food, the price was right. Food came quick, service was good. Authentic feel. Took care of our pasta craving!

tiny place, good food
The restaurant is tiny and the tables are very close together. The lunch specials have plenty of options and includes a soup or salad. Everyone at my table ordered the soup and I ordered the salad--my mistake. Next time I will order the soup. The meal was prepared quickly and tastes great! Will return soon.
