    tiny place, good food

The restaurant is tiny and the tables are very close together. The lunch specials have plenty of options and includes a soup or salad. Everyone at my table ordered the soup and I ordered the salad--my mistake. Next time I will order the soup. The meal was prepared quickly and tastes great! Will return soon.

    Very Impressed

I have gone to many Italian restaurants in the city and this place impressed me. The food is fresh and delicious. You are getting high value for the price. My husband said he thought this was the best italian he has ever had. The service was good. And as other reviewers mentioned, we did observe the hostess kick people out politely as there was line and the party of 2 had paid there check over 30 minutes ago. Small place. Do not recommend for parties larger than 4. My husband and I got two glasses of the house wine, appetizer: Crostini Pomodoro, entree: Ravioli Spinach Ricotta and Pizza Ortolano, dessert: Tiramisu. Everything was very tasty. The check was $51 with tip! The tiramisu is large and good for two and it was perfect, not too sweet and was nice and fluffy. We truly loved this place. We will be back again soon!

theres a party in my tummy...

Love this place been going there for years. Food is pretty yummy, nice portions and great price for Italian food in the city. Even saw Rob Zombi there once! ;) The waiters are patient and friendly. I only had one bad experience there and that was with a large group the hostess told us to finish up a leave. It was rude but I get it, they have to make their money . I would not recommend it for groups over five but lower then that you will be pleasantly surprised. Personal Recommendations: Insalata Puglia: a mix of lettuce, fresh tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, black olive, and red onion in a house vinaigrette 7.95. Tortellini Pesto: cheese filled pasta in a fresh pesto sauce 9.00. Ravioli Goat Cheese: goat cheese filled ravioli served in a mushroom, tomato and basil sauce. 9.75. Pappardelle Funghi: large fresh ribbon noodles with in season mushrooms, in oil & garlic sauce 9.50 ( Current favorite! ). Spaghetti Vongole: spaghetti with clams in an olive oil and garlic sauce with italian parsley, or request a red sauce. 10.95. HANDS DOWN THE BEST TIRAMISU I HAVE EVER HAD! And I have had a lot.

    Better Than I Expected

Despite all the negative reviews about the service I still went to check this place out last night(01/02/10). I could see how the hostess would rub people the wrong way about getting people seated, but it really is a tiny place and they do need to turnover the customers as quick as possible. If you're going to go, just know (1) NO WAY you'll be seated before your entire party is present, (2) You either have to wait outside or in the cramped hallway leading to the bathrooms, and (3) the thing about not being able to order 2 glasses of wine is true. If you think you can handle these things then by all means check it out, because the food is a good value, but if you expect some of the common courtesies you'd get at other restaurants then don't even bother. From the looks of it, the owner doesn't care, because they were doing pretty well last night.

    Stay away

I've been in this place few times before and had no complaints. Food was good and atmosphere OK. But, I was there today with a group of 9 when one didn't show-up in time. We ordered him his course but they refused to take it until he came. 1 minute before he arived, the hostess decide that she's pulling out one of our tables (the place was half empty) and brutally thrown our stuff to the floor like we don't exists. We step out from there immediately. Would recommend everybody to stay away from there. Never had such experience in my life. Nobody deserve such behavior.

    Surprised by Bad hostess reviews

I've been going here for 4 years and I love it. Cheap, affordable, delicious food. The hostess has been nothing but nice to me even going so far as to giving me a free dessert the other day. The waiters are very nice and food comes really quickly. Give this place a chance!!
