I've never written a bad review on this site, but I just had the worst meal I've ever had in New York. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi as did my friend. We didn't like it because itt was so salty. Our other friend's pasta was crunchy it was cooked so poorly. The staff was very attentive, and the atmosphere was nice. I supposed this could be a fluke but I couldn't believe with what they charge how poor the food was.

Il Cantinori is one of the only authentic Italian places in Manhattan. The food is great, but the prices are $$$$. But it is totally worth the money! If you like Il Cantinori, then visit Bar 6, another of the Kotsoni's resturant. They have many more resturants, but Bar 6 is the best out of them. If you haven't gone to Il Cantinori before, I highly recomend it!

The food and service are consistently excellent. If it's not on the menu and they have the ingredients... done. The staff is friendly and helpful. Whenever my family plans a dinner together they all want to eat at Il Cantinori. All the waiters are great. Our favorite is Dominico. Been going there for years. Never disappointed.

A very nice crowd for a Saturday evening...good wine list too. The food portions were nice, we had the monkfish, and the branzini for main courses which were both great. The special appetizers are great and you can't go wrong with any of the home made desserts.

Food and service are consistently good. Menu items are well prepared and good portion size but be prepared to spend top $$ for everything from appetizers to dessert. Restaurant get get crowded and noisy, especially on weekends. Overall, a great spot.
